WIAW #12

Good morning, friends!

Another Wednesday is upon us. Which means its time to celebrate another round of What I Ate Wednesday!

This morning I headed to the gym my Tuesday spin class. I woke up and picked up my clothing I had layen out the night before. When I lift up my shirt, a giant spider was there! Oh my goodness. 17 heart attacks later, I finally managed to put a cup over it and proceeded to beg my mom to come and kill it for me. The whole day I felt like bugs were crawling on me. Ick, hate those spiders!

7:30 – Breakfast:

Just the same old up in here. I swear I’ll switch it up for you all next time. Overnight Oat Bran with banana, egg whites, pumpkin, chia seeds, and topped with cashew butter.

[Insert Starbucks run here]

11:30 – Lunch:

I enjoyed a piece of ezekiel, spread with a coconut oil layer with cinnamon and stevia sprinkled over top. With a side of zucchini and an egg. AKA the only protein and veggies I had left in the fridge.

After, I clearly needed to go grocery shopping and I went to deliver a package to a special friend. Umm. I definitely suck at wrapping packages, it took me about half an hour to fit everything into the box and tape everything shut. Let’s just say I apologize deeply to whom ever has to open that thing ;) . Yikers. I think the employee working thought I was a little nutty as well. Fun times, I tell you.

3 – Snack:

Mid-afternoon I looked over the fridge and realized I had some extra tofu leftover, so I enjoyed another bowl of tofu mousse. I also had a bowl of [un-pictured] strawberries, for good measure.

5 – Dinner:

For dinner I was craving some veggies like crazy, so I made some roasted broccoli slaw, cauliflower, parsnips, and a turkey burger. Topped with a mixture of goat cheese, hummus, and nutritional yeast.

7 – Tea:

The temperatures are still pretty cool over here, so after dinner I delighted myself with enjoying a cup of David’s Tea. Sleigh Ride flavour. Kind of out of season to be drinking in June, but it’s just so darn tasty.

8 – Snack:

I’ll finish up my day with a protein muffin with coconut cream and peanut flour paste. Yummm.

That’s all for today folks, hope you all are having an absolutely wonderful Wednesday!

I’m off to catch up on The Bachelorette!

Who all got tickets to HLS this August?!

xox,
Lisa

  4. Looks like a yummy day of food :) . I sadly can’t go to HLS. I so wish I could!!

  5. Can you swing by and make me a night time snack? I need to try your protein muffin recipe!

Also – just catching up on posts now and SO proud of you for asking for help. This is a huge first step to living a truly healthy lifestyle (with balance, less obsession about food). It took me a long time to get to where I am now, but I have to say that not obsessing over food and exercise will open up doors for the things that truly matter in life: love, your dreams, passions, success…it only gets better!

  6. I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU, LOVE!!!!! IT’S GOING TO BE SO AMAZING.

  7. All of your food always looks delicious! I want to go to HLS sooo bad!!! I’m hoping I can go:D

  8. That nighttime snack always looks so good!

  9. Oy, spidahs!I felt like I hadn’t see any of those 8 legged monsters in ages, then all of a sudden recently, I keep finding them in my flat, RUDE. Must be to do with the time of year or something…

    Xxx

  10. I got an HLS ticket! Did you?? Oo I see youre mailing something to my special friend (as well), Meg! She’s fab. I see you’re drinking her David’s Tea obsession too, haha!

Your dessert looks super good and hearty, so does that dinner salad, mm nothing light a light crunchy salad!

    • Yes I did!!! I’m so excited to meet you! :D Haha, yes I totally have a David’s Tea obsession, it is seriously the best tea over here.

  11. Great eats again this week! :-)
I won’t be going to HLS this year since it’s right around my due date! I’ve never been to before but would love to go one year!

  12. lots of yummy looking eats! enjoy the bachelorette! :) i caught up on it yesterday.

    • I am just loving this season! Emily is keeping me entertained, even though so many people thought she wouldn’t be a good Bachelorette!

  13. woot woot! CAn’t wait to meet you in person : )

  14. I went to HLS last year because it was in Philly (near me). I was disappointed, but I also didn’t get the full experience I guess? Ella was 3 months old so I roomed with her and my mom and wa worried about nursing and being away from her. I went to some of the speaker things, but wasn’t too impressed. However, it was so amazing to meet my online friends in person. I really wish I could go this year just for that! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Boston! Trying to talk Michael into taking a trip there HLS weekend ;-)

    • That’s true! I can imagine it being quite difficult with Ella just have been born and being away from her! That would be hard. I was kind of wondering if it may be a little cliquey or anything like that as well! I’m just mostly excited to meet the faces behind the blogs I read, its so weird to not have met face to face, yet feel like you know someone! You should definitely convince Michael! I’d love to meet you :D

  15. Man so freaking delicious. All of it. Seriously. And worst way to start a morning by far! You poor girl.

  16. Your nighttime snack looks delicious! I also love the protein mousse. I’m a huge snack-obsessed person, haha. :) I’m not going to HLS, but I wish I was!

  17. Once I put on pants that were laying on the floor and there was in a spider in there. I almost died.

    • Oooh. That’s the worst! I literally got the chills from reading that haha. They are just so creepy!

  18. I found a spider on me yesterday too and I freaked out! Yuck.

  19. Haha! I drink out of season tea too. I have a lot of holiday teas and I drink it throughout the year! My boyfriend thinks I am crazy!

    • Haha, yah if my friends come over they’re always like why do you have SO many holiday teas. Whoopsy.

  20. I GOT MY TICKET!! WEEEE cannot wait to meet your beautiful self Lisa! Oh and I saw your how-to on the oatbran recipe and now am excited to try it for myself tomorrow morning :)

  21. I am SO excited that I get to meet you in August!! Are you planning on staying at the Hyatt? I sure hope so!

Reading about your spider encounter yesterday morning gives me chills! No living creature scares me more than spiders! I’m glad your mom came to the rescue and that your survived the trauma! ;)

Great day of eats, lady. :) How do you make your coconut cream? <3

    • Eeeek!! I am jumping off the walls in enjoyment still! Yep, staying at the Hyatt! I actually booked 2 hotel rooms before just in case, so I have to decide which one to go with haha. To make the coconut cream, I just use 2 tablespoons coconut flour, vanilla stevia, and 1/4 cup almond milk and it gets super creamy! So good, sometimes if I’m feeling jazzy I’ll add about 1-2 tablespoons of yogurt too.

  22. Me and spiders do not get along… at all. LOL.

Isn’t Ezekiel bread the best for toasting? Love it.

    • Same! I just despise them! Actually all bugs! I adore toasted ezekiel bread. Definitely my favourite bread I’ve tried thus far.

  23. i haven’t had that tofu pudding/whip in ages. Soy is not a friend of mine, but it looks so good. might have to try it again.

    • Yah, usually soy and me don’t get along much too. Tummy troubles galore! I can tolerate it in small amount though! This seemed to be fine, a little iffy I’d say!

  24. Looks delicious!
I would have loved to go to HLS this year since Boston is so close to me, but I’ll be honeymooning in Aruba. I think I’ll survive! :)

    • Haha, your Aruba honeymoon sounds definitely like it may be a suitable replacement for missing out on Boston! Hopefully next year you can come!!

  25. Sometimes I worry about posting the exact same breakfast every week, too…but, hey! That really is what I eat nearly every day! I say, “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it!”

  26. I really need to jump on the peanut flour bandwagon- it looks delicious!
