Good Morning Wednesday!
What comes before Part-B? Part-A. Get it? PartAy, like party.
A What I Ate Wednesday Partay, at that. Gosh, I’m so cool I can’t contain it.
I’m finally starting to feel a bit better, so hopefully this cold is finally kicking itself to the curb!
When the craving strikes for overnight oats, there is no turning back. I said last week I’d change it up, but clearly I’m a liar.
7:30 – Breakfast:
*more overnight oat bran topped with copious amounts of cinnamon and cashew butter after*
I was so excited this morning, to look at my schedule and see that I had no appointments or anything today. So I could do whatever the heck I wanted. Unfortunately, the fatigue crept back in, so I’m going to take it easy another day while I can!
I caught up with a friend over the phone and enjoyed the leisurely time I had.
11:30 – Lunch:
A slice of toasted ezekiel with avocado and an egg, with a side of roasted broccoli slaw topped in marinara sauce after.
I was still a tad hungry after, so I had an apple to snack on.
I had a great plan to try out a little yoga, because I thought I could handle it, and then felt like I was about to die. So, stopped with that terrific idea.
Instead of working out, I decided it was a better idea to lay on the couch with my favourite ever heating blanket! That thing makes me feel better instantly. True love.
3 – Snack:
Some while later I made myself a bowl of greek yogurt, cashew butter, and a large amount of fresh strawberries and blueberries.
Next stop was spending my sweet time online shopping. Oh spiralizer, I need you in my life. Okay fine, I don’t need it. I just so badly want one. And about 80 other things I can’t afford to buy right now.
I was a little ravenous today and couldn’t wait long before digging into dinner, luckily I had everything prepped for me to eat.
5 – Dinner:
I had leftover spaghetti squash, a homemade turkey burger, and used Janetha’s faux lasagna to dress it all up (which I found through this post).
I’m just loving spaghetti squash these days.
Then, I caught up on my reading and some other not so super exciting things.
8 – Snack:
I made myself a serving of pumpkin protein cookie dough to have as a snack before bed, which will most likely be served with a peanut flour ball.
Off to catch up on The Bachelorette from Monday night!
Hope you have a delightful day!
What do you usually eat for snacks?
What’s the best thing you ate today ?
xox,
Lisa

Yum, the snack at night looks delectable. I am a huge fan of roasting broccoli slaw thanks to stuft mama recipes. Glad you are feeling better!
Me too! She got me addicted to that stuff
Glad to hear that you’re starting to feel better! My snacks are usually fruit, bars, greek yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, smoothies, or veggies…or some combo of those haha.
Haha, yah I guess there are a ton of options! I can’t wait for the weather to heat up, so I can start drinking more smoothies! I can never drink them when I’m cold
That apple looks so crisp and delicious! I love all the cashew butta action too WOO!
Glad to hear you’re feeling better girl!
Cashew butter is the best!
It’s a party! Haha
I have too many snack combos. Glad you’re feeling better!
Thanks lady! Yah, I definitely have a lot of different snack combos!
I’ve actually been trying to snack less because I don’t know if my body is that hungry between meals. If I know I’ll be going 5 hours without eating, I’ll at least be prepared and bring something to work. Today, I packed a light string cheese. Only 60 calories and 6 grams of protein. This with a few nuts or a small apple will tide me over.
That’s good your doing whats best for your body! Some people don’t need snacks and others do. I just get too starved if I wait a long time hah
Part A – part-ay! HAHAHA. I love you. All your eats are so clean and yummy-looking, per usual. Glad you’re still listening to your body. You’re doing so amazing, Lisa! Seriously; it’s so inspiring to watch. LOVE YOU!
Haha, I’m so classy sometimes. Thank you Heather! You inspire me all the time!!
Spagetti squash is something I have always wanted to try. Seeing your WIAW post reminded me that I need to get some and give it a try ASAP.
You have got to try it out! Its so delicious, and makes for a good spaghetti replacement surprisingly! I actually like it better than the noodles.
Gorgeous ,yummy eats girl! I always think your foodie pics are so pretty.
Glad to hear you are feeling sliiiightly better and had a chill day:).
Spiraliser is on my list of wants too. Although my veg peeler actually does an awesome job at zucchini( we call it courgette here in the uk just in case you were wondering,:p) and carrot noodles.
Xxx
Aw thank you! Oh that’s good that your veggie peeler works good! Mine is so sucky at its job haha. Maybe I should just get a new peeler for now!
I love snacking on Greek yogurt and fruit too! Also, apples with almond butter, banana soft serve, homemade granola bars, or crackers and hummus.
I’ve still never tried banana soft serve! I never think it will fill me up very much! I guess I could always add things to it though
Glad you’re feeling better! I love Cliff Kid ZBars as snacks, cottage cheese or yogurt with fruit and nuts, or an apple or banana with peanut butter.
Definitely fruits with nut butter is a good one! I’ve never had a clif z bar before, I don’t even know if they sell them in Canada? I don’t think I’ve seen them in stores though
You can order them online if you can’t find them in stores. http://www.clifbar.com/food/products_clif_kid_zbar/
glad to hear that you are staring to feel better
Oh how I love eating spaghetti squash – perfect with some marinara sauce!
Definitely a delicious combination!
Glad you’re feeling better and that you stopped yoga-ing when you did not feel good. It’s hard to for me to stop exercising if I start feeling like crap during it, but that’s something I’ve gotten better about.
I know, I was so attempted to just keep going, but I’ve started to get at least a bit better at listening to my body! Trying to stop those unhealthy behaviours can be such a pain!
I am glad to hear that even though you feel better, you did listen to your body to do what is right and not push yourself too hard! Sooo important. I haven’t made spaghetti squash in quite some time, you are reminding me I need to do so again!
I’m pretty proud I did that too actually! Normally I’d just push through it, but I know that’s not going to make any good changes for me at the moment!
Pumpkin protein cookie dough?????? Yes please!!!!! I can’t wai t to try!!!
I hope you feel better asap!
Thanks love!xo Have a great one!
What is this great thing called pumpkin protein cookie dough? Ummmm sounds like freaking heaven. I will be making this as soon as my stomach isn’t full lol Oats are sooo hard to change up. My friends tease me because they think it is all I eat.
There’s a link that goes to the recipe! It’s some random ingredients, but it tastes awesome!! Haha, I totally get that oats are hard to change up. I basically never do it
Best thing I ate? My grilled salmon cooked to perfection
(rare!!!!) Mmmmmm <3
You sound like you have been listening to your body so much better babe! I am so incredibly proud of you
XO
Thanks my love! You are a constant positive support in my life and I can’t thank you enough!
way to PartAY! haha. you are too cool! and glad you are feeling better. You must try savory oat bran next. Use brewers yeast or nutritional yeast, a little butter or oil, tomato sauce and I top mine with avocado.
I’ve got to try out your combo! And yes, definitely have to try the savoury oat bran! Possibly today!!
