Bonjour, beauties. Happy Wednesday!
Now let’s celebrate with a partyyy. What I Ate Wednesday style.
*P.S. Thanks for all the awesome comments on yesterdays post. You all are the sweetest!
I started the day off with my favourite breakfast. After changing it up, it was back to my old favourite.
8 – Breakfast:
Overnight oat bran with banana and to top it off a few blueberries and almond butter.
Satisfied, I got ready for the day.
After breakfast, I headed to an appointment and to pick up my daily caffeine.
As I was driving, I noticed the gas prices went down a seriously crazy amount! So incredibly happy about that. I had to make a pit stop. I mean, just a month ago it took 60 dollars to fill my tank half way and when I payed 60 today, it was full. I was pretty excited about that; which makes me a huge nerd, that’s fine though.
12 – Lunch:
Lunch was roasted kabocha squash with a side of coconut butter to dip. I can’t have enough kabocha, it’s the best. I basically ate the entire squash.
3 – Snack:
When I was hungry mid day, I mixed up a bowl of yogurt, a little protein powder, strawberries, and blueberries. Simple and tasty. Berries are definitely in season now, they are tasting ultra special.
*recycled picture*
I also brewed up a cup of tea to soothe my throat, I’ve been suffering with a sore throat for about a month now. No fun.
Then, I ventured on a short walk outside. The day started out a little muggy, but turned out to be quite lovely by the time the afternoon hit!
5 – Dinner:
For dinner, I wanted to change up my usual roasted broccoli slaw that was getting near its expiration date, so decided to cook it along with spaghetti squash and tempeh, and doctored it up with a cheesy ball, which turned into a sauce for it once it was heated.
Looks disgusting, tastes delicious.
8 – Snack:
Before bed, I whipped up a batch of coconut “cookie dough”. I used pumpkin instead of applesauce, replaced the cashew butter with 1/4 cup more pumpkin puree. After the photo shoot it was topped with protein flour paste. I’m addicted to this dough.
I’m not sure if I mentioned this in the first post, but make sure you refrigerate at least a couple hours in advance, so that the oats get soft and develop a more doughy texture.
I’m now tuning into the Bachelorette from Monday night.
Have a good one loves!!
What’s the best thing you ate today?
xox,
Lisa

I neeeed to find kabocha squash. I can never find it anywhere!
Usually I can find it only at Asian markets! I don’t know why that is! Sometimes I can find it at the grocery store, but its rare.
KABOCHA!!! HUZZAH!!!
Foods from the heavens, I swear haha
BUT I’m on my last one and haven’t been able to find any at the store…nooooooooo
Nooo! I hate when that happens! Kabocha is seriously the best!
Your overnight oat bran looks amazing. I love oats in the morning and am always up for a little change. This is a recipe that I will try for sure. Thanks for the idea and happy WIAW!
No problemo
I love my oat bran hah. Happy WIAW to you as well!
I have yet to try that squash, I need to find a place to buy it. I also bookmarked that cheesy ball for my dinner tonight. Thank you lisa!
You’ve got to try it if you ever come across it! No problem! Hope you enjoy
MMM cheesy spaghetti squash! That looks so yummy. I usually make mine with like tomato sauce or something, so I’m definitely going to have to switch it up. It is totally okay going back to oatmeal for breakfast – I eat oats like three times a week lol. They are just too good in my mind to ever give up plus they are healthy for you, so why give them up if you love them!
It definitely is good for a change up! Haha, oh don’t worry, I totally eat oats sometime up to 5 times a week. What can I say I love them so.
YUM! I love squash too and my favorite snack ever is the greek yogurt berries and protein powder! MMMMMMMM
xxoo
I love yogurt with protein powder! Such a protein packed yummy snack! <3 you!
The best thing I ate yesterday was Brownie Batter Oats. You would never know they were healthy. Taste like dessert for breakfast!
The berries look delicious!
Oh wow! That sounds truly delicious!! I love chocolate first thing in the morning, especially when its healthy too
I had some Napa cabbage in the sitting in the fridge that I had to use up and found this awesome recipe for stir fried napa. It was absolutely delish!
That sounds interesting! I’ve never heard of napa before, but I’m intrigued!
okay I must try your Oatbran recipe…if you love it that much I KNOW it MUST be good!!

I have been loving Kombucha too, I used to bake it in the oven, but now I prefer it steamed…it yields a little bit of a different flavor than roasting
best thing I ate yesterday=the new almond milk Cookies n Cream ice cream with crushed pretzels and PB on top…yes it was GOOD!!!
I hope your week has been going wonderfully beautiful girl!
xoxo!
Haha, its definitely a goodie! I’m definitely going to try it steamed next! Sometimes roasting takes a little too long haha. Oh man! That sounds absolutely sinfully delicious! I need to go search for that almond milk ice cream. I hope your week has gone well too love!xo

that squash sounds great! I have never tried it before… Great idea to combine spagetti squash with brocoli slaw!
It was definitely tasty! You have got to try that squash is you ever see it! The taste is so good!

MMmm, gorgeous, pretty, yummy(much like yourself, hehe) eats Lisa!
I really want to get on the tea train everyone seems to be on-but I think of tea ,& I think of dirty dishwater:/- I just don’t think I like it.
We don’t have anything like Davids tea over here, but I I did purchase Yogitea chocospice variety( I thought that sounded nice). I still haven’t worked up the courage to try it!
Xxx
Thank you Sarah! You are far too kind
Haha, I totally used to think of tea in the same way!! I had tried a few I disliked, and it totally turned me off until I started drink loose leaf tea. So much flavourful and better!
Chocospice sounds great! Let me know if you try it out hah
If we were in the same room together with a cooked kabocha squash between us… well let me tell you, there would be trouble! I am as obsessed as you are, I cannot get enough!
Oh man, I doubt there would be enough between the two of us
I don’t understand why its so dang tasty haha
Great eats! I haven’t had oat bran since last summer.. maybe need to change that!
The best thing I ate today… was some homemade cashew butter I made
You definitely need to get back on that oat bran train! I love it. Oh yum! Cashew butter is my favourite nut butter out there! I’ve never made it myself though!
The best thing I ate today was sushi. It was even better because I didn’t have to pay for it
Free food always tastes the best!
oh bugger for the throat. i needs to go away! maybe some tequila. haha JK
Haha, tequila doesn’t sound half bad right about now
I haven’t had a roasted squash in months, but I just bought a kabocha squash from the grocery store yesterday. I can’t wait to crack it open and eat it.
I love your idea to dip it in coconut butter!
It’s an unreal combo! I definitely can’t get enough of my squash. And people say its only a winter squash, I dont believe that
I’m so envious of your plentiful kabocha squashies!
So good! I can always find a ton of them at the Asian markets around here, they are the only store that carry the best ones too!
