Which Do You Like More

I had plans to get up early this morning to workout before the day, but then my alarm clock went off and I laughed because the time seemed silly in that moment. I’ll take the extra hour, thank you very much.

Originally, I was going to recap the rest of the Healthy Living Summit, oops. Clearly I’m not so I’ll save that last recap for a rainy day.

Fall is definitely coming, there was a slight breeze in the air today and it made me sad the nice weather will soon be leaving. Although, I love fall, so I’m pretty excited for all that’s to come then! While the flowers are still here I had to take some pretty pictures. Bye colourful flowers, hello creepy leaf-less trees.

When the gorgeous Katie posted this, I knew I wanted to join in! I love getting to know more about people’s preferences, because let’s face it, I’m a nosy gal.

Let’s get to it.

Do you love almond butter or coconut butter more?

Let’s just state the obvious. I’m a coconut butter lover.

It tastes oh so sinful. Or maybe that’s just the price tag talking.

I love it by itself, on protein muffins, oats, protein pudding, roasted squash, so just about anything.

Do you love low intensity or high intensity workouts more?

Since I’m still trying to get my hormone issues figured out, I’ve being doing lots of lower intensity workouts.

However, I definitely prefer high intensity workouts. They are so fun and I am missing them big time. I just know that putting off these workouts is the best thing for me right now.

Fitness will always be an option in the future, but my health and bone strength will be put at risk if I don’t take care of these issues now. Treating my body better is a great enough feeling for me, besides relying on the intense workouts for the endorphins.

Do you love summer or fall more?

I love each season for different reasons and don’t really have a preference.

I love summer time for the fresh foods, copious amounts of fresh and local vegetables and fruits, and of course the warm weather.

But, I enjoy fall because my BIRTHDAY is in the fall, pumpkins, cinnamon, hot beverages, and everything that comes along with that season.

Do you love waffles or pancakes more?

Pancakes are the definite winner for me!

I don’t think I ever find myself craving waffles much, and enjoy how easy pancakes are to make.

Versatile and delicious to top it all off!

Do you love being lazy or being productive?

There are times when I love to just be lazy and unproductive, but those aren’t regular occurrences. I’m trying to slow myself down and enjoy spending every minute in the moment, without pursuing distractions.

Sometimes its good to be along with your thoughts and gain perspective into what is happening in your life. I could use more of those moments where I really allow myself to be along with my thoughts.

It’s important to be still and accept where I am in life. I don’t find that to be lazy, but to just gain insite.

However, there’s a time to be productive to when you want your dreams to become your reality.

Do you love apples or oranges more?

Apples for sure.

Except when Christmas time comes around and I will definitely reach for the mandarin oranges. (or Christmas oranges as well call them over here!)

Oh my, this just made me super duper excited for Christmas time! Okay, its only September I should get ahold of myself.

Do you love seafood or meat more?

I always wish I loved seafood, well I can’t say I don’t since I’ve technically never tried it (don’t yell at me).

Its just never been appealing to me. So, with that I’d have to say meat.

Do you love being off the market or being single more?

I may be in the total minority, but I’m the girl that has never dreamed of having a “fairytale wedding” or finding my “prince charming”. I actually don’t ever want to get married, I don’t have anything against it of course, just feel its not for me.

And I actually enjoy being single. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t, but then I always think that I’d have to give up so much for another person (yikes, that sounds super selfish ha ha).

I’m also not in the healthiest place to consider a relationship anyways. Ask me again in 5 years and maybe I’ll have changed my mind.

Plus, now I don’t have to share my single protein muffins this way;)

Off to enjoy the day! Do this survey too, its a fun one!

Do you like pancakes or waffles more?

Or answer any of the questions!

Love to all of you. Happy Thursday!

  1. What a fun little survey. Love learning more about you girl! I was never the girl who dreamed of a “big fairytale wedding” either hunnie, so no worries. Ours was small, simple & just the right amount of guests (our immediate family mostly). I actually told Joshua I would’ve been completely okay just going down to the courthouse, but I would’ve missed the amazing moment having my dad walk me down the isle.

Eh, your birthday is coming up & I’m so excited for you. Any big plans?

    • Ha ha, yah sounds like me. I wouldn’t be all for the big wedding stuff. I’d rather save money for more important things like my future or house;)
No plans yet!! I need to think of something fun to do though ha ha.

  2. peanut butter! :)

    high intensity

    summer

    waffles

    productive

    apples

    seafood

    off the market!

  3. I like this survey! Fun to read. Yay for your birthday coming!

  4. I hear ya on the marriage thing. I don’t think it’s in the cards for me. I’m way too selfish. And i’m okay with that :)

that turkey burger looks good! totally making that. I need to use more coconut in things…..hah, more…i mean ANY!

    • Looks like we’re on the same page with that one!
You definitely need to try out the turkey burger! I can’t get enough of them lately.

  5. I like high and low intensity workouts. I try to mix it up. I like to add an HIIT workout in 1 or 2 times a week to keep my endurance up or I feel like I’m getting out of shape. If a girlfriend calls me up and is like I want to take a bootcamp class or something, I don’t want to be the girl out of breath. I do enjoy steady state cardio because it feels less taxing on my body.

    • That’s the best thing, to mix it up so your body is always guessing and adapting!
I wish I could get into the lower intensity stuff, hopefully with time it will get easier!

  6. power to the single lady!! haha:) refreshing to hear someone say how nice it is to be single, because let’s be honest: it’s a GIFT! i’m right with ya – no wedding desires right now, but maybe in like, 5-10 years:))

    pancakes ftw!

    • Woohoo! I agree, its a gift to me single and we should embrace the time we have to ourselves right now, so we can become better people! I like it that way! We can focus on ourselves more:)

  7. Coconut butter intrigues me but I have yet to try it. I am kind of baffled at just thinking what it would taste like!

    • You have to try coconut butter, especially if you don’t like the nut butters!! I would hope you like it, since its about my favourite thing in the universe;)

  8. Oooh, interesting about marriage. I happen to like being in a relationship, but that’s only because the relationship I am in right now is amazing. But the funny part about it is that both my BF and I are not in any rush to get married. We are on exactly the same page and not afraid to talk about stuff, and that is what really keeps people together–whether married or not!

    • I believe the exact same thing about marriage/relationships. I think communication is the ultimate key in any relationship.

  9. I love these surveys! I am so indecisive so I was reading through all the options thinking but I like them both! I’m with on the coconut butter love! It’s just amazing!

  10. Francoise says:

    Hey Lisa!

I love what you said about being married! I think we need to realize that we are “complete” now. God made us complete. No other person can make us complete. I believe that as we realize that, we often find the perfect mate, not complete us, but to share our completeness with us. :)

    xoxoxoxo
    Francoise

  11. i’m DEFINITELY more of a pancake girl – mainly because i just don’t haev the patience to work on the perfect waffle and taking out the waffle maker is such a pain in the arss!

    • Ha ha. That’s the main reason I love pancakes more too. I can’t imagine trying to perfect a waffle, seems to time consuming for me! When I wake up I want food like now, not in an hour.

  12. Whoa there! How’d I miss that coconut crusted turkey burger?! It looks amazing! Reminds me of a crusty chicken that my mom makes at home. Ew, why does “crusty” sound so much grosser than “crusted”?! Haha!

  13. Can I just say how much I love your response to the being single question? So many women, particularly young women seem to ‘settle’ for sub-par relationships because they feel they need a man to complete them, or due to expectation/pressure. I think it’s brilliant that you’d rather focus on yourself right now – it’s not selfish to put your health and emotional wellbeing first.

Pancakes for me all the way ;)

    xxx

    • Thanks Jess!
Its taken me a while to realize being single is NOT a bad thing, I love it, and I’m not too sure what I’d do without the freedom I have for myself now;) ha ha.

  14. High intensity! Almond butter! Waffles! (or protein pancakes)! ANd I love being married. LOVE it. But only because I loved who I was even before I found my amazing husband :)

  15. Oh this was fun! Loved reading it! Can you believe I’ve never had coconut butter?! I think I’m just scared to drop the money on a jar and then get addicted since it’s on the pricey side.

    • Oh goodness girl, you should try out coconut butter! Ha ha, I could see being a little scared of the price tag and the addiction that comes along with it;)
I’ve screwed myself over on that one now.

  16. !! You call them Christmas oranges too?! Someone once made fun of me because I called them Christmas oranges, and I was like… whaaaaat? That’s so totally what they’re called. Ha! Now I have proof. I’m definitely with you on a lot of these answers, especially with the meat vs. seafood thing (I’ve had fish maybe once in my life and hated it) and the being single thing. Although I sometimes get lonely and think that I’d love to find someone, for the majority of the time I actually enjoy my freedom, space, and quiet. Maybe that’ll change one day, but for now I’m good with just being with me :)

  17. um i love you. i especially love how you’re so OKAY with being single. so many girls would beg to differ and feel incomplete without a man or woman. you’re a rockstar.

i’m a freak and don’t really care for waffles or pancakes. can i just have protein pudding oats? ;-)

    • Love you Heather:)
Ha ha, yah I was actually thinking I’d probably pick oat bran over the pancakes or waffles. I’m far too in love with that breakfast!

  18. TRY SEAFOOD!<- that's me yelling. I actually think you'd like it, especially something like salmon or tuna burgers. Maybe try it one day? Makes a real nice change from chicken/turkey I promise.

I love all your answers,( narrow-mindedness on the seafood front aside:p)! You articulated my own thoughts on being single perfectly. I used to think I was weird for not wanting a boyfriend,( that's what watching too much Sex & the City' ll do to ya), I feel less alone on this now:),i AM enough on my own. And from what I see ,there can be a lot of wasted energy, stress & upset involved in relationships. I'm getting a little upset just thinking about sharing my protein muffins.

Oh my, 'Christmas oranges', that is ca-uuute! I'm totally calling them that from now on, & i always get premature festive excitement too. Ooft, I am getting those warm , fuzzy christmassy feelings:) .
    Xxx

    • I think I may actually try seafood sometime this week, if my mom cooks it. Might as well! I’m nervous though ha ha.
Oh man, can’t even imagine having to share my beautiful creations with someone;) even though they’d probably find them weird ha ha.
Get on the christmas orange train, best name for them ever!

  19. I love me some coconut butter too!! I love these surveys!! I love learning more about you!

  20. Stay single as long as you can! Selfish is not a bad thing! Relationships are hard and can be not good if you’re not ready/ in the wrong one etc etc… I can’t believe you haven’t tried seafood. That said, if you’re going to make sure you are on the coast and it is Fresh!!!! :)

    • Its funny because BC is known for such fresh seafood, so I’d be guaranteed some fresh stuff. I’m just afraid it will taste like it smells ha ha.

  21. Totally doing this haha I prefer pancakes more too, but only the ones I make cause they’re healthy. I find waffles too boring and dry and hard.. I like the softness of a pancake more. It’s a texture thing for me.

    • I think its a texture thing for me as well! I’ve never really had a good waffle experience but pancakes on the other hand:)

  22. Okay, I LOVE this survey and all of your answers (of course). But one thing really stood out to me…

“I may be in the total minority, but I’m the girl that has never dreamed of having a “fairytale wedding” or finding my “prince charming”. I actually don’t ever want to get married, I don’t have anything against it of course, just feel its not for me.” <—-

I am SO happy to hear that I'm not the only one who feels this way! Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I tell them I've never dreamed about a "fairytale wedding" or being a stay-at-home mom in a house with a white picket fence. It's just not me!

    Gah…sometimes I swear we're the same person!

    • Oh yay! Again, we are twins;)
Some of my friends honestly think I’m crazy for never wanting to get married, but I agree, its just not for me. I don’t see it in my future at all!

  23. LOVE that you did the survey and we are so similar for sure! You know we both are coconut lovers! Artisana is my favorite brand of that coconut butter, never tried another one and don’t need to!

Pancakes all the way too! I like frozen waffles but am bad at making them on my own!

    Happy weekend ahead! <3

  24. Yay fall birthdays!

The only time I ever want an orange is around Christmas – and it’s all about the mandarins. I’m pretty sure I get a handful of them in my stocking ever year. :-)
