Since its Saturday, I figured a survey would be a survey would be appropriate! I’ve seen these popping up all over a few blogs and decided to join in myself. I still can’t believe October is almost over, and soon it will be Halloween!
Apple picking or pumpkin picking?
* I’m such a nerd, do you like how I decorated that pumpkin?! *
Pumpkin! I love pumpkin picking this time of year, since its basically the only time you can actually get your hands on a pumpkin. Plus they usually have other fun activities happening at a pumpkin patch!
And let’s be honest, I love pumpkins.
We used to have apple trees in our neighbours yard that we used to pick every year, so maybe I just got sick of all that apple picking;)
However, honeycrisp apple picking is definitely awesome too!
Favorite apple recipe?
Tough one for me, since I really dislike the taste of cooked apples.
I still want to try my hand at baking with them though and see if I can actually get myself to enjoy cooked or baked apples.
I’ll leave you with a few links I’ve seen around that look pretty good!
Like Annette’s protein apple chunk muffins, Amanda’s curried apple pumpkin soup, and these paleo apple cinnamon muffins.
Favorite pumpkin recipe
* pumpkin protein pudding is one of my favorite snacks to enjoy *
This shouldn’t be a real question. That’s like asking which of my kids I prefer…well, I don’t have kids, but if I did I’m sure this would close compare.
I mean there is everything from my favorite overnight oat bran or buckwheat, protein muffins, pumpkin bread and a pumpkin frosty. Those are just a few that I love.
Favorite soup recipe
* okay, so not a soup but you NEED to try pumpkin seed butter! I could drown in this stuff *
Another tough one to choose.
I love all different kinds of soup, tomato, pumpkin, parsnip, broccoli, basically any soup recipe is a win for me. Unless it contains mushrooms, onions, or garlic. I hate those veggies. Not a fan at all.
Also I love chili. Does chili count as a soup? I’m going to go with yes. Just because I love it.
Football: on tv or in the stadium?
If the weather permits – outside for sure. I’m not a huge football fan, but I’ll watch it. As long as drinks as involved…agreed?
Favorite football team to cheer for?
[Source]
Seattle Seahawks. Just because that’s my Dad’s favorite team, so I’ll have to agree with him on that one!
Daylight savings time. love it or hate it?
I don’t really mind the time changes at all, actually. Yeah, it gets dark earlier, but I’m not going to hate on it.
How do your workouts change during the fall months?
They don’t usually change at all.
I’m such a creature of habit that I typicall stick to the same routines throughout the months. I still go to spin classes, work out at home, go for walks, I’m just more bundled up.
The only time it will change is if it snows. If you’ve been to Victoria, you know the whole city basically shuts down when even an inch of snow hits the ground. People literally go insane in the snow. We are definitely not equipped for it.
In the end, I don’t let the change in weather effect the way I work out. I mean if it’s cold out the best way to warm up is to get moving!
Favorite halloween candy?
I highly dislike all candies, like candy corn and gummy candies. Never have liked them.
I was much more of a chocolate girl and the Reese cups were always my favorite! They were actually about the only chocolate I really liked.
So, any kind of peanut butter and chocolate combo will be a winner for me.
Any essentials for fall weather?
Boots! Layers! Tights! Cardigans! Wedges! Sweater Dresses! I just love Fall fashion.
Another fall essential, is a hot cup of coffee!
Do your meals change when the weather changes?
Definitely! I much prefer whipping up warm soups, chilis, breads, muffins, and all things that warm the soul on chilly days and nights. Also my list for fall produce goes up a ton!
Goodbye smoothies, hello soup.
Favorite fall dessert?
* This pumpkin pie frosty could fall under dessert categories though *
Honestly, I’ve never really made or had any amazing Fall desserts. I don’t like pie or any of the typical Fall desserts like that.
I used to just beg my Mom to make cheesecake during the Fall holidays.
I’d have to say any sort of muffin or bread would probably be on my favorite list! I should probably branch out and try some more desserts though…
Best thing about fall?
The leaves, weather, atmosphere. It’s so pretty during this season!
Worst thing about fall?
Don’t want to dwell on the negative of the season, since there are too many good things to overlook the bad!
Best thing that will happen this fall?
Well, since my birthday and Thanksgiving has past. I guess Halloween would be the most exciting thing. Although, that doesn’t sound too exciting.
I’m sure something fun will come up
What’s the best thing that will happen for you this fall?
Favorite Fall soup?
Happy Saturday to you all!

Hey Lisa, I just made a delicious leek and blue cheese soup! But is leek in your dislike category?! I used to not like mushrooms either until I tasted a divine soup (you can get very bad and very good ones) so maybe one day you may come around (even though I totally agree it looks dodge in the bowl!)
Laura
I actually don’t believe I’ve ever tried leeks before! So, I might as well try it! I hope I’ll turn around this distaste because mushrooms and onions are just about in anything!
lmao! I didn’t even notice the face on the pumpkin. Would have never seen it if you hadn’t said anything
I really need to try that pumpkin seed butter.. I bet it’s amazing!
Ha ha. I’m just super cool;) It’s so good!
Iv’e not made soup in ages, this should change.<-Yes, that was a hint ,to share with me that yummy looking soup in your WIAW post:) , tehee. I like pretty much all soup, including the ones you've mentioned. Broccoli, asparagus, pho & ramen are also good with me.
Aw shucks I'm gonna be sad to see autumn( or fall, whatever), end this year! It really is a wonderful time. The long ,scenic walks will be less enjoyable when I can't feel my fingies & toes during winter:/.
Xxx
I’ll be sharing it tomorrow!! Wahoo:) I know I’m going to be so sad when Fall is gone, at least Winter can sometimes be pretty.
That pumpkin pie frosty looks so good!
Thanks!:)
I made a butternut squash bisque the other night and it instantly became my favorite soup recipe. SO GOOD and perfect for Fall!
Fall is such a wonderful time, but it’s way too short here. It gets cold so quickly and the leaves fall off the trees after like 3 weeks. Boo. But I do love the Fall
The colors, the tastes, the smells, the fashion… all wonderful. And I’m so bad with making new soups, so that curried apple pumpkin soup is pretty much the only one I ever make
But my mom makes a killer tomato soup that I go kind of crazy for.
Ah, I’m so with you on loving all those parts of Fall! Ha ha, I’m awful with making new soups as well. I always go back to the same ones since I know I like them! I swear Mom’s always make the best tomato soups!
I can’t believe it’s almost Halloween either! insane…wasn’t it just October 1st?
I love butternut squash soup. Or you know…butternut squash anything.
I know, I swear it was just the first week of October! Nuts.
Happy weekend, love!! Reading this post made me realize how many pumpkin recipes I’m missing out on. You’re the pumpkin creation queen! My goal this week is to try at least one of your fabulous recipes. Maybe pumpkin protein pudding? Or the pumpkin frosty? Or maybe the pumpkin seed butter? Ahh, I’m never going to be able to decide.
Seriously though, pumpkin seed butter sounds amazing. I bet it would be delicious slathered on pumpkin bread!
Best thing that will happen this fall: turning 27 in 4 days (the day after Halloween!) and flying home for Thanksgiving! I can’t wait to spend a week with my family, and help cook up a big feast.
I just love how festive you are, Lisa!! Will you be handing out candy Wednesday night?
HUGS! xoxoxo <3
Ha ha. I clearly have a pumpkin problem, I wonder when I’m just going to get super sick of it and not eat it for like a year. It’s definitely a tough choice;) The pumpkin seed butter is pretty darn amazing! Ah, that’s so exciting your birthday is super soon!!! Yay! And that you get to spend time with your family too, I’d say that’s pretty awesome! I’m not too sure what I’m doing for Halloween yet. There are a few parties, but I have to work the next day. So not sure. Plus, we usually only get about 10 kids each year, since we live in a cul-de-sac on a hill with only like 4 other houses, so no one comes. Ha ha. It’s so sad.
I’m pretty sure it is safe to say that you LOVE all things pumpkin! hahaha
I just want to embrace every single day with the most positive attitude I can! Fall is a beautiful, cozy season and I look forward to it every single year
Have an awesome day
xoxo
Yes, that is a safe assumption! Have a great day too!
I love these surveys! I still need to try your pumpkin seed butter!!
You definitely do!
LOL that pumpkin face. Did you draw that on the comp?! You’re too funny.
Mmm I love chili! But I think my fav soup may be gazpacho. A unique one with a slight hint of pepper never ceases to amaze me. I love when avocado is used to make it!
I hate candies too. The only candy I like is chocolate. I have always had to give away about 80% of my Halloween candy because I don’t even like it!
I know this is a Canada stereotype but – how is Victoria not prepared for snow? Isn’t Canada really cold and don’t you get a lot of snow? Forgive my ignorance!
Ha ha, you know I did! I’m just the coolest. I was the same, always giving away most of my candy, which was sad, but I just hated most of that stuff! Yah, it actually doesn’t get very cold here. I think the coldest weather we’ve ever had is about 20 degrees. So it’s not awful. And it RARELY snows, maybe once every year, if that. A bit of a stereotype;) ha ha. Most of Canada does get snow, but on the island we rarely do! We’re probably the warmest place during the Winter in Canada. So in other places in Canada there’s lots of snow, just not here. It’s kind of weird! I remember when I first moved to Calgary I was so excited it was snowing in November!
Honeycrisp apples make my fall!
They are the best apples ever!
My favourite pumpkin soup! Love it!!! All your recipes sound so good. I have to get organised and try some. Most exciting thing that is happening- my girls BDay, the 1st of Nov. I’ll never forget being massively pregnant on Halloween and looking like a giant pumpkin! Haha.
i think i need to experience a real fall. boots and all! and fall leaves. How about i come visit you and we eat reeses? hehe
You are too cute with your pumpkin!
I love me some Twix. We haven’t even gotten Halloween candy yet – oops! haha
fall is my favorite season! i have to say that the worst thing about it is the fact that it gets dark sooo early. but other than that, love everything about it!
