Thank you all so much for the super kind birthday wishes!!
It was a great birthday. The weather was gorgeous. I can still go outside in skirts! And people say Canada is too cold…;)
There’s something about October that makes my heart swoon a little bit. Its ultimately my favourite month of the year, well and December as well. And the good news is that it feels way more appropriate now to have multiple cans of pumpkin in my cupboard.
Here’s another round of my September favourites!
Almond Butter
Specifically in Pumpkin Spice Bars, but replacing the oat flour with almond butter. I’ve already made these twice more and I can’t stop eating them.
Kabocha
Did I really need to add this one?;) If you get your hands on Kabocha you need to roast it. I cut it into bite sized pieces and set my oven to broil. I line the kabocha on tinfoil (no oil needed) and sprinkle with cinnamon. Broil the squash for 10 minutes and turn down the oven to 425, where I allow the squash to roast for another 30-35 minutes. It comes out crispy and delicious.
Pumpkin Chai Tea
This chai tea has to be my favourite I’ve ever had. Its a little spicy, but sweet and it makes an excellent latte if you froth a little almond milk and stevia beforehand and add it into the brewed tea. It makes for a lovely treat while curled up on the couch.
It’s a great way to add some refreshment to your mind and revamp that negative energy and turn it into positivity. Rejuvenate and refresh your mind, because it deserves to be treated with respect just like our bodies do. And if the mental margarita isn’t working, go ahead and have a real one:)
Mac Eyeliner in Teddy

I love my makeup. This colour is subtle enough to use during the day, but can also be played up for night time effects. It’s a wonderful addition to a smokey eye and I love that I can wear it on my bottom lash line without it looking too harsh against my pale complexion.
Halloween Nails

Now I haven’t actually tried this one, but these skeleton nails! Need. I am so going to bring this picture to my next manicure and ask to get this done. Its a must for Halloween.
Peplum Dresses

At first, I was not into this fashion pick at all. After seeing it dress style and how flattering it is wearing it. I am totally in on this trend for Fall. I love how it creates a more unique look and is super versatile.
Diamond Push-Ups

These are one of my new favourite moves. They activate my tricep muscles like crazy and I love adding new pushup variations to my fitness routine. By alternating the different types of pushups I’m doing, I am always targeting different muscles in my arms.
What were some of your favourite things this month?
What’s your favourite thing about Fall?

Can’t wait to chat!!! I miss you
you got me hooked on kabocha and I can’t go back! so good, at least it is the most affordable squash around me so I am pumped about that.
I know, I’m happy kabocha is pretty affordable! I don’t know what I’d do with myself if it was expensive.
Favourite things this month: Thanksgiving (woot Canadian!), my birthday (3 weeks from tomorrow! Yay!) And Halloween (of course).
October is definitely one of my favourite months…so much good stuff!
Yes! Thanksgiving was lovely wasn’t it?! And ya for your birthday and halloween coming up!! Clearly I’m an October lover as well!
So glad you had a great birthday!!! I love everything in this post, as usual. I really want those nails – so cute.
Aren’t they the cutest? My sisters friend just did them for her, so I really need to get on that!
I’m loving fall fashion this month! Was trying on clothes at Aritzia and thinking of you as I know we sometimes buy the same stuff
Have my eye on a few things!!
Oh! That reminds me I need to check out Artizia soon!!! Glad to hear they have some cute stuff right now!
Those nails are so awesome!!! Idk if I’d try it out just because I always seem to smudge my nails haha
Ha ha. I’m in the same boat. Everytime I paint my nails too!
Those nails are pretty cool, can’t wait to see how they turn out. My favorite thing about September is fall fashion.
Yes, I love fall fashion always!
I’m glad you had a good birthday!
I’m loving that Pumpkin Chai tea too. I haven’t had it in a while though… I need to go back and get my fix soon! Also yay for kabocha. You know I love it too. I actually finally found it in a grocery store near me so I’m super excited to be reunited with it!
It is definitely awesome! I have two canisters of it right now ha ha. Yikes.
Canada -is- too cold! Here in Edmonton it’s only like 6 degrees today… and rainy and windy! I could definitely go for a hot cappuccino right now, but it’ll have to wait until after work
September had me loving Fall scented candles, chocolate chip pumpkin bread, UD’s Naked2 palette, and just the gorgeous colors of Fall in general.
Glad to hear you had a good birthday, girl! Hope you’re having an awesome day today too
Oh yikes! I didn’t know Edmonton was so cold already. I guess that makes sense though;)
We had weather in the 20′s today. It was bizarre!
I always look forward to these posts of yours:), & I get what you mean about October making your heart swoon. Gives me the warm fuzzies.
I share so many of your favourites! Kabocha holding the No1 spot. Obvs.
I think you would really suit a peplum dress actually, you look lovely in dresses. It’s a pretty classy looking trend, & really flattering to the hip & waist ( ..not that your hips & waist need flattering at all, but you know what I mean:p.)
Butternut squash oatbran( using your microwave method), is a sure favourite for me.
I only just tried Bodyrock for the 1st time in September,( I know, where have I been), it.is.LOVE. My current favourite way to workout by faaaar, I <3 Zuzana! And yes , pushups are awesome, such a versatile move. Decline pushups- with feet on an exercise ball- are good & challenging to me.
Xxx
Ha ha. I know what you mean:)
I need to add butternut squash to oat bran now!
Zuzana is so awesome! She is definitely super motivating!
Ohhhh I LOVE the skeleton nails!! Sign me up
Aren’t they just the cutest?! I’m in love.
