Good Morning my friends! And a happy Friday to you all!
This weekend is looking pretty low key at the moment, but hopefully a few things will come up. I desperately need a hair appointment to dye my hair, but I doubt that will happen this weekend. Yikes.
Anyone planning on going to the malls today for Black Friday? We get some sales here, but obviously nothing compared to you all in the States. I’d rather online shop, crowded malls make me anxious.
Let’s get to this weeks confessions.
1. I’m totally impulse buying everything at David’s Tea.
I swear, anything that sounds remotely delicious I will just buy. Which just so happens to be most of the teas they have.
It’s a little unfortunate for my wallet, but at least I have a large assortment of tea going on.
This cup is Santa’s Secret and it’s definitely one of my favorites. I have been obsessed with anything peppermint.
I’ve been trying to save it for special occasions mostly, but let’s be serious that doesn’t happen.
2. For some reason I haven’t been eating greek yogurt lately, it used to be my favorite snack ever.
I tried to have it today since you know, I used to be obsessed with it, but I actually found myself not really liking it.
At all.
My taste buds are odd. I go through such love/hate relationships with food.
3. Having cozy dinners at home is so much better during the colder months.
Throughout the Summer I mostly relied on smoothies or salads, but I much prefer having warm Dinners at home and being in more of a “hibernation” mode.
There’s nothing better then slipping into your favorite pajamas and having a bowl of chili or hot soup all cozied up.
4. I officially need these wine covers for Christmas time!
Are they not the most adorable things ever!?
I love the idea of having an ugly Christmas sweater for your wine;)
5. I have WAY too many recipes on my radar right now.
I’ve had some saved for months, so I really need to get cracking on that list.
I believe I’ll start with this gingerbread over the weekend! It looks lovely.
Somehow, even though I have a ton of ideas, I always resort back to the usuals though.
Hopefully I get motivation to switch it up soon.
6. I went to the mall to start buying Christmas presents and somehow I only ended up buying stuff for myself.

How did that happen? I clearly need a shopping intervention.
7. Ever try and get on board with those supposed “super-foods” and just hate them, but so badly want to like them?
That was me and collard wraps, I tried so hard to like them. I even tried this recipe which looked awesome.
But, sadly they just don’t agree with me.
However, the insides (minus onion) to the collard wrap were freakin’ delicious!
Any “super-foods” you want to like, but just don’t?
Any cute new finds recently?
What recipes are on your radar?
Happy Friday everyone!

That gingerbread is on my to make list too! It looks amazing!
That zucchini bread does look incredible. I wish I had seen that before I went to the market. I would have bought the ingredients and made it today. Next time!
I’m staying away from the malls today, I have no patience for black Friday.
Have a great day!!
I despite busy malls! I just can’t do crowds.
I despise busy malls! I just can’t do crowds.
Oh God, number 4 cracks me up, lol!! And I am so with you on number 3!
I definitely need to try a good chilli.
My tummy doesn’t agree with kale at all. So no kale for me
I feel the same but with cauliflower and broccoli. Sometimes I cheat anyways;)
I agree about the malls making me anxious too! No BF shopping for me..people are NUTS here!
I haven’t had a haircut in like 7 months? It’s bad. I can’t find the time! I gave up on getting my hair colored. Not until I’m gray
When I was platinum blonde I had to do it every 3 weeks, yikes!
I can not get on board with seaweed snax. Blech! I was into them for a second, but then they started to gross me out!
That’s how I feel now, I’m always at the hair salon getting it colored! Too much money I think! Ick, those things gross me out too!
Oh girl, I’m definitely feeling you on the shopping front. I didn’t think that Black Friday would make it up here, but apparently it has because the malls are PACKED today. I think I’ll stay home and avoid the lineups and crowds. And there are actually plenty of superfoods that I can’t handle. Collard greens, kale, salmon, and chia seeds are the first things that come to mind…
Isn’t it weird how even in Canada we seem to pick up those Black Friday trends. Yah, I’m definitely not a salmon fan, I can’t even stand the smell of seafood. Ick.
I can’t do kale unless it’s in chip form. I guess it’s okay cooked into a delicious dish, but something about raw kale just grosses me out! I totally understand your David’s addiction though. My best friend works there and my birthday present this year was a plethora of tea! Best. Gift. Ever.
Same here! Raw kale and me do not get along, but I love it in chip form. I have a friend that works there too, it’s amazing!
Umm, soo Ditto on:-
2. I really don’t go crazy for greek yogurt like I used to. I definitely sickened myself of it( ate it multiple times a day at 1 point)… then couldn’t even stand to smell/ look at the stuff for a little while. After some time apart, we now have a much more casual, less possesive, on/off relationship. The EXACT same process occurred with blended cottage cheese actually. Weird.
5. I planned to make the Chocolate Meets Gingerbread this weekend too! Well , either that, or the twins buckwheat chocolate chip cookies they recently posted. Decisions Desicions! Too many AMAZING recipes floating around & not enough time I tell ‘ ya.
7. I feel like I would not like collard wraps either. I’d be all like , ‘ why is there a leaf where my doughy carbs should be’, lol.
Happy Friday Lisa:)!
Xxx
That’s exactly how I got burnt out on greek yogurt too! Just too much! Same with cottage cheese, I never ever thought I’d get sick of those! I have way too many recipes on my radar! I can’t even chose what I want to make. Ha ha. Totally agree on the collard wraps, I’ll take real carbs thank you;)
That bread does sounds incredible! Might have to go on my to-bake list as well.
As much as I try, I just can’t like kale. It doesn’t matter if it’s cooked or raw, I just find it gross! I really need to buy some David’s tea the next time i’m in London (Ontario)…I’ve been really feeling peppermint stuff lately too! (or I might just have to buy some candy canes. I’m cool with that too).
I only like kale cooked! And it can’t be plain, it has to be loaded in coconut oil and nutritional yeast ha ha. I guess it cancels out it’s health with all that;) You definitely need to stock up on the tea!
Those wine bottle covers are adorable! I NEED those!
The last picture I saw of your hair, it looks great to me! My roots are like 24 inches long, it’s scary. Thankfully, I have an appointment tomorrow
I used to eat Greek yogurt every single day but I haven’t eaten any dairy in weeks!
Lucky you got your hair done! I have grey roots ha ha. I swear my hair is already grey, not a good look. I’ve noticed my stomach hates dairy now! Whenever I try and incorporate it again my stomach rebels!
Plain ol’ Tofu isn’t my favourite, but turned into vegan tofu burgers and I love it for some odd reason! I can’t believe you live in victoria! I live right next door in lil’ ol’ Port Alberni
That’s so awesome! I used to go to swim meets over in good ol’ Port Alberni:)
I prefer shopping online too, but I love going to malls at Christmas time with friends just to window shop and chill at the food court with some veg. sushi or froyo.
I’ve had my eye on that Naked palette – looks so gorgeous! And I cannot be allowed into David’s Tea for the same reason, I somehow always walk out spending over $40 when I go in for tea!!
Same here! Ha ha, I spend far too much money on tea!
