Looking Forward

Hello friends! I saw this survey on the beautiful Paige’s blog last week and couldn’t resist.

What’s new? I’m just a sucker for a survey.

Since it’s Saturday, I thought it would be appropriate to do a fun post, let’s keep it fun for a Saturday, yes?

Looking Forward Survey

1. What you’re looking forward to in the next couple hours:

Coffee! Clearly, I’d have to agree with Paige on this one.

But I’m sure none of you are surprised by now.

I love spending weekend mornings lounging around with a cup of coffee and some reading materials.

Perfect start to the weekend, in my opinion.

2. Who you’re looking forward to seeing?

My friends, who I will be seeing later on tonight!

You can never have a bad time when you’re with friends!

3. Which meal you’re looking forward to eating?

Well, since I just picked up a lovely bag of kabocha squash.

I’d have to say roasted kabocha for sure! Which I will be having at Lunch, along with an omelette I believe.

4. Workout you’re looking forward to doing?

I have a leg workout on schedule for today!

I actually have gotten myself to liking leg days more, the day after…not so much.

Although, wearing heels tonight after a leg day isn’t always the best of ideas.

5. What you’re looking forward to this weekend?

Spending a night out with a some friends.

Hopefully it will entail some wine and girl talk.

Wine is always a nice treat on the weekend, correct?

6. Show you’re looking forward to watching:

Right now I have New Girl DVR’d, I’d say that’s a pretty decent show to look forward to.

Jess is just super duper awesome.

7. Recipe you’re looking forward to making?

Oh man, I have so many on my radar right now!

I definitely want to make some vegan banana bread, that my lovely friend Sara posted!

And I have a few holiday dish ideas up my sleeve. So hopefully I can test those out sometime in the near future.

8. What you’re looking forward to most for the holidays?

Don’t even get me started on how excited I am for the upcoming holidays!

Anything directly geared for Christmas makes me extremely happy.

I can’t wait for all the baking, family, friends. I always love decorating the Christmas tree everywhere, listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies.

Oo, I also really want to see the Nutcracker ballet. I just find ballet so beautiful!

Basically anything and everything holiday related I’m pretty pumped out about. I should really calm down at this age.

9. Thanksgiving dish you’re looking forward to eating?

Well, since Thanksgiving has already passed in my neck of the woods I guess I don’t have to answer this one.

I’d still like to make this delicious looking salad from Two Peas And Their Pod, minus the mustard (I’m allergic) and using coconut oil instead of olive.

It looks magnificent!

And just for kicks I’ll just tell you my favorite Thanksgiving dishes anyways.

Which happen to be brussels sprouts and turkey. We get an organic free range turkey every year, and it is just so gosh darn delicious.

10. A goal you’re looking forward to achieving?

I don’t usually set too many goals for myself, but I definitely am looking into a few plans I’ve been wanting to make happen in the near future.

I also want to be able to keep up with meditation each day. Sometimes, I don’t get it in every morning and I can definitely tell a difference.

Also, I’d like to be able to do 100 push-ups in a row;) That sounds like a fun goal, right?! Who’s in for a 100 push-up challenge?!

What’s one goal you’re looking forward to achieving?

What are you looking foward to most for the holidays?

Anyone else want to do an 100 Push-Up challenge?

Hope everyone has an excellent weekend!

  1. I think you can’t get too old for being excited about christmastime! I’d love to be over once in Canada or USA to be part of all this christmas craziness. Here in Switzerland everything is so decent and when I get wild about it everyone thinks am a freak. 100 push-ups?? Wow girl, that is great! I might join…but let me think about it over the weekend :-) And I love that you meditate every day! I do the same and I definitely feel the difference if I am not! Have a great weekend beauty!

    • Glad you agree! I think you should be allowed to get excited for Christmas over there, make it a trend;) Ha. Feel free to think about it over the weekend. Hope you have a great weekend as well!

  2. 100 push ups is insane! But you can totally do it! :) Wine time sounds awesome!! Enjoy your girls night!

  3. New Girl is one of my favorites! Cracks me up every time. Nice goal! Mine is a strict pull up. Still working on it. Have a fabulous weekend!

  4. I’m looking forward to…our eventual SKYPE chat haha. Seriously. It needs to happen <3

  5. You have just described my ideal weekend! Winter squash, wine AND New Girl?? I’m SO there :) This year for the holidays, I’m really looking forward to challenging “ED” by indulging in all the treats I could never bring myself to eat before. It’s gonna be a yummy one :) And I would love to be able to do 100 pushups, so maybe I’ll join you in that challenge.

Also, I just started my very own blog and I gave you a shout out on the first post since I have been reading your blog for a while and love it. Check it out! healthinequilibrium.blogspot.com

    • That’s a great idea to challenge ED to those things. Indulging is NOT bad, it’s amazing to let go and allow yourself those treats! I’m so glad to hear that! I’ll check out your blog asap!

  6. I really like this survey, I hope you enjoy a night with friends.

  7. I’m super pumped about all things holiday-related as well! I’ve already started listening to holiday music (confession: I actually listen to it all year long, but practice more discipline during the summer;) ) Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, so why NOT spread the cheer all year long? ;)

I love this survey! You and your girls are glowing in that photo! I hope you have lots of fun hanging out tonight; girl time is definitely the best. I’m drooooling over the Two Peas and Their Pod salad. I think I spy Brussels sprouts, pecans and blue cheese! YUM. Definitely checking out that recipe now.

I am so in for a 100 pushup challenge! Although I’m not even close to being able to complete that many right now…Ooof.

Thanks for the shout-out, darlin! I hope you LOVE the banana bread! Have a fantastic weekend! xoxo <3

    • Ha ha, you are adorable. I recently started listening to holiday music as well. I swear I can never get sick of it! It’s so amazing. I like the idea of spreading cheer all year long. Oh man, I’m also drooling over the salad, it sounds like the best ingredients in the salad! Ha. I’m in the same boat. 100 push-ups are definitely going to be a doozy to complete. Making the banana bread today! SO excited!

  8. You’re allergic to mustard, oof that sucks. Well maybe not, mustard isn’t anything special. But I have to say you’re the on,y person I know that’s allergic to it. People get such random allergies. A friend I had was once allergic to watermelon and strawberries. Sucks!

    • I know, it’s such a random allergy and it sucks so much since I have to avoid the mustard green veggies as well. And have to be super careful because if veggies are grown with those greens I will have an allergic reaction. Not fun! Oh man, can’t imagine being allergic to strawberries!! I love those things.

  9. I am the same way about the holidays. I am so excited for every single thing holiday related and want to cherish each day as much as possible!! I see the Nutcracker in San Francisco every year with my grandma :) It’s so beautiful

  10. Calm down about Christmas? Pffft! Never! I’m 27 and Christmas still makes me extremely giddy  And to be perfectly honest, that’s not really likely to ever change. What can I say? I’m a big kid at heart. I love the music, the movies, the decorations, the food, the magic in the air… EeeeEEE! I seriously can’t wait. Ok, calming down now :D

    • I’m glad to know you’re just as excited as me! I’m a huge kid as heart as well, I can’t help it! It’s just such a fun season!!

  11. 37 sleeps till Chriiiistmaaaas!! I’ll join you on the festive excitement:), it would still be better if santa was actually real though.. (aaand I hope I hope I didn’t just break it to you that he isn’t..)

100 full, proper, good form, chest practically to the floor , push-ups? Hm, I doubt I could do it. Sounds like a good challenge though! Push-ups are such an amazing full body move I think, plus, I’d feel pretty badass bangin out a hundred of them.

I hope you know how much I totally APPRECIATE you sharing links for recipes & workouts( as well as your own recipes & workouts, obviously), cos we have like the same tastes. I can’t wait to do that leg workout, & I don’t think I’d have found it without you! So basically a giant thank you:).

Have fun being a social buttafly tonight
    Xxx

    • Yay! I love the you know how many days it is until Christmas! Ha, I agree it would be better if Santa was real;) Aw, no problem! The leg workout killed me slightly, feels good!

  12. Thanks for linking me, friend!
Have fun with your girls tonight :) My mom’s getting an organic free range turkey for Thanksgiving and I’m SO thankful.

  13. I graduate with my Master’s degree in December and have begun the job hunt. Therefore, a major goal for me is to obtain my first full-time “big girl” job!

  14. Oh this was fun! Can you be more photogenic?! WOW! Thanks for sharing the workout too!!

    • Aw thanks Jess! Especially since my family always says I’m not photogenic ha. The workout was killer on my legs! Thanks for creating it :)

  15. i am looking forward to seeing all of my friends and family! can not wait to lay on my couch and do absolutely nothing!!

    I hope you’re having a great Sunday!
    xoxo!

    • Aw, thanks Lizzy! And I feel the same about you! Um, yes. I need to get down there asap! How much fun would that be?! We could do push-ups and spin classes together! Ha. Hope your having a great day too!

  17. I’m such a sucker for these surveys!! You know that! I may have to steal this one. :)
I’m looking forward to resting and relaxing next week with family!!

  18. mm mm i’m looking forward to kabocha squash tonight too! mm mmm mmm hahah

  19. Stephanie says:

You and your friends look like superstar celebrities!! Seriously, I had to do a double take!
Hey, what pound weights do you use for the arm exercises you listed in your workout? I just might try it! :) Thanks Lisa

  20. I love watching New Girl! What couple are you rooting for? I’m kind of wanting Nick and Jess to end up together :)

A few years ago we bought that Gingerbread House kit and I was basically left to my own devices to make it. Man did it take longer than I thought though! I had to make extra homemade icing because I ran out, and I used up some of our spare Halloween candy because there just wasn’t enough for what I wanted to do. Turned out pretty good! Can’t wait to see yours! :)
