Another year of Halloween has come and gone.
As much as I love Halloween, I always am way more excited for the upcoming events that just so happen to fall between now and December.
Since it’s November 1st, I say it’s now socially acceptable to take down those Halloween decorations, and get the Christmas stuff rolling. Too soon?
I’ll try to hold back a little while longer. Who knows how long that will last.
Now that October has officially finished, time for another roundup of my monthly favorites. There’s a lot this month!

I made these a while ago, and ever since I’ve been whipping up batches very frequently.
They are the perfect little snack full of satisfying and quality ingredients.
Soups
It’s officially soup weather.
It’s taken me a long time to reintroduce soups into my diet, since that was a staple in those dreaded disordered days, but I am welcoming them back with open arms.
Especially when they’re tasty and full of flavor. Plus, it just screams comfort food.

I go through various stages with favorite nut butters.
I’ve ventured out into making my own nut and seed butters and I don’t think I’ll be going back to store bought. Well, except for my beloved artisana.
But, this pumpkin seed butter is truly amazing.
If you haven’t tried seed butter before, I highly recommend it.
Not only are pumpkin seeds delicious, but they are super nutritious as well.
Celebrating my birthday
Obviously a highlight of October will have to include celebrating my 22nd birthday.
There’s nothing better in my opinion than birthdays.
It’s equally awesome that I get to celebrate this day with my Mom too.
Tabata Workouts
Tabata is one of my favorite forms of fitness, since the intervals are intense and fast.
By having intervals that are only 20-50 seconds long, it makes the workout soar by.
During those seconds I feel like I may be slowly dying, but after I feel amazing.
Sweater Dresses

They’re cozy, comfortable and anyone can find a style that fits their frame. I’m also a weirdo, who doesn’t like wearing pants.
That sounds bad, but I mean that I’m not a jean fan. I would be perfectly content if I could go on everyday wearing dresses, skirts, or leggings.
Now that the cooler weather has hit, it’s really not the best option to be wandering around in a typical summer dress.
Which is why I absolutely adore sweater dresses.
The perfect mix of Summer and Fall. These will do until Winter hits.
Sweater dresses also look adorable with boots, which makes me a happy camper.
With it being Halloween month, how could I not enjoy this spooky show.
Dexter has been a long running favorite of mine.
I’m wimpy when it comes to watching this show alone, although I love scary movies. Just not after I watch them. So, my sister and I usually watch this show together.
This show is slightly Halloween-y since you know it’s about a serial killer, so I thought it was appropriate to include.
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
I read Gone Girl and was captivated start to finish.
It’s definitely an intense read, and not for the faint of heart.
Especially is easily impacted by books. However, I love story lines that can pull you in and books that leave you wanting more from the author.
Which is why this book is one of my favorites.
How was your Halloween?
What are some of your favorites from October?
Have a great Thursday!

I always find myself wanting to start celebrating and decorating for Christmas right after Halloween ends! I mean don’t get me wrong, I love thanksgiving & all, but snowmen are much cuter than any thanksgiving decorations haha
Ha ha. I know, right! It seems totally appropriate to put the Christmas decorations up right after Halloween. We’ve already had our Thanksgiving, so it feels even more appropriate to start decorating!
favorites from october def include pr-ing in half marathons two weekends in a row!
Yah, that is definitely so amazing Lindsay!
You know I love your pumpkin obsession in October!!! Gives me a bunch of new recipes to try! My halloween was super uneventful! I had work until 10 and then came home and went to bed! Lol no party animal over here!
Ha ha, I feel you. It never seems right to party on a Wednesday night anyways, especially with work the next day!
My favourites from October included my birthday and all the celebrations around it – having my family come up for dinner the day and then going out last weekend to celebrate. Yay October birthdays!
Wahoo! Love those October birthdays. I’m glad you had an awesome time celebrating yours!
I usually don’t bust out the Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving ;D Love your faves!
That’s probably a good plan, the problem is we already had our Thanksgiving, so I feel the need to get decked out early;)
It’s never too soon for Christmas fun. I love this time of year because of the holidays and to be honest I’m not much of a Halloween person. I prefer glitter and snowflakes to pumpkins and skeletons any day.
I love sweater dresses too. I really need to find a good classic black one since my favorite one is missing.
Have a good day Lisa!
I definitely prefer Christmas to Halloween as well. More celebration time! Oh no, I hate when my clothes go missing. I’ve been searching everywhere online for sweater dresses, but am unsure where to order from! It’s always hard to tell online! Have a good day too:)
Great minds think alike! I did an october favorites today too!
I am so making that pumpkin seed butter this weekend!
Do it! It’s SO good.
Totally agree that it is now socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music!!!
My Halloween was great, all I did was hand out candy to the youngins
Awe! I wish we had kiddos come, but we only had like 7 in total. Sad!
Never too soon to bring out the Christmas decorations! I’m already super excited to put mine up, and I think we Canadians have it a little bit easier since we don’t have to worry about Thanksgiving anymore. And I’m -definitely- with you on not really enjoying wearing pants
Give me leggings, an oversized sweater, and knee-high boots, and I’m a happy camper.
So true! My sister and I were planning on decorating over the weekend, but thought we may be just one week too early;) Right! I just hate pants too, ha ha. Just something about them! Ah, oversized sweaters and leggings are perfect Winter clothes.
Awesome recap post
I have to check out that book…. I’ll give Gillian another try.
It’s really good!
ooh another book I need to read! can’t wait to check this out. you are right, it is such soup weather
It’s hard to believe that in 2 Favourites posts time, christmas will actually be over..sad to think about. Better get those decorations out soon I say, make the most of the festive time whilst it lasts:).
Anyway I’ve been loving long walks, and adding dill to like all my savoury eats this month. I got a dill plant to grow in my flat & it has been flourishing! Surprising, since I normally kill stuff like that.
I want to see this Dexter everyone seems to love, spooky shows are my jam. But I don’t think it’s shown here, maybe ill see if I can get it on DVD or something.
Xxx
Oh gosh! That is so crazy! Definitely, it’s never too early or late to celebrate the holidays! I told my Mom that and she was like “yes it is” I beg to differ. Oh dill! I need to pick some up, I always forget about it but I love it so much! Hmm, maybe they have it online? It’s definitely a great show! And I’m a spooky show sucker too! I watch basically all of them.
Dexter is a long running favorite of mine too! I was recommending it to someone the other day and I was like, well, it’s just been SO good for SO long, it’s amazing!
It’s definitely one of the best shows out there right now!
I feel so old. My Halloween was all about my kids. They had a blast. It is the first year that they have been old enough to participate on any level.
Awe that is so exciting!! When I nannied it was so exciting to see the kids get super excited about Halloween time!
YES to Christmas stuff! I know so many who hate it and don’t want ot see it until after Thanksgiving, but the longer the Xmas season, the better
Awww, happy birthday, Lisa! You look gorgeous as always too! I am glad to hear you are able to enjoy a nice hearty soup again. That made me smile.
And Dexter. OMG…how good is this season? I am freaking out. I missed last Sunday, you just reminded me I need to go catch it on demand. Yikes!
Totally agree Laury! Thanks so much! Oh my gosh, Dexter has been amazing so far! I’m so curious to figure out what will happen! Since there’s so much going on between Deb and Dexter now!
