We have a lot of thoughts that come to us throughout our day.
Did you know we have the ultimate power over those thoughts?
As people, we have the decision to determine if we will listen to that negative or positive thought.
Just because we perceive something to be true about ourselves, doesn’t mean we have to believe it.
* favorite oat bran and banana breakfast; oat bran, 1/2 banana, chia seeds, flax seed, egg whites, blueberries and cashew butter *
Instead of accepting everything that you think is true, how about examining those thoughts further.
They may seem true to you because you’ve been programmed to thinking a certain way for so long, but is this thought helping you or harming you?
You have the power to chose which thoughts you will rid yourself of, and which thoughts you believe and accept.
Really think deeply on these. Is this thought/belief empowering you? Does it make you feel bad about yourself?
* typical car picture with my coffee while my Mom got gas, it’s fun when other people look at you odd *
If any of your beliefs are in fact making you feel not worthy as you are right in this moment, accept that and let that thought go.
You deserve to treat yourself better! Your thoughts do not define you, but how you chose to handle them is another story.
When we believe negative things, we attract negative situations and people. I don’t know about you, but if I see someone who’s a negative Nancy, I’m not going to want to be around them.
Ultimately, once we change our beliefs into positive ones, we will attract people who will better our lives.
Our minds truly are powerful. Naturally, we will continue to attract people who support our beliefs.
Be aware of your thoughts. If they happen to be negative, replace them with thoughts that empower you instead of hinder you!
We have to choice to believe what we think, and change those beliefs to better us!

Are you going to join the Blog challenge? What do you love about yourself? What’s a powerful, positive thought you believe to be true? Happy Tuesday friends!

I really love this post Lisa–such a great reminder to keep positive and ditch the thoughts inhibiting you. I mean, what good do they do anyway? They just make you feel like crap! Life’s way too short to spend time wallowing in sorrow!
Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
Exactly, those thoughts do nothing to benefit us in the end so we might as well change them! Love you!
Everything what you say in this post is SO true! I experience so many times in my recovery how powerful thoughts are, how negative ones can beat us and how great it is to transfer this power to positive thoughts. It is truly amazing, thank you for reminding us again! I love that challenge, definitely going to join!
Thoughts are SO powerful on how we live our lives, it’s really incredible actually! No problem Lucie:)
we do have control over the thoughts! and i think the key is finding where they are sourced then letting them go! Well said Lisa.
Totally agree!
Great post. I liked what you said about the negative Nancy’s. I hate being around them, and if I act like one, people aren’t going to want to be around me either. It really is all about staying positive!
And that blog challenge sounds fun. Can’t wait to read more about it!
For sure. I mean when people complain all the time, I’ll eventually stop wanting to hang around them, it’s just not fun to hear people complain 24/7. Positivity wins!
I love this Lisa! I tend to be positive for anyone but myself and I’m working on changing that. I totally agree Negative Nancys are no fun to be around
Positivity is definitely the way to go!
I’m glad you’re working on this change Danielle! It’s so worth it!
Love this! I hate being around a Negative Nancy for sure! I need to work on my thoughts about myself that I hold in. Ya know?
I agree! I think it’s important to express those thoughts too, just to let others know how you feel, then you can really be open to changing those things!
I love my legs
6 months ago, they were sooo skinny, I couldn’t fill out a single pair of pants. Now they’re lean and strong and I love it. I’m even getting this little booty that is filling out my jeans quite nicely! Hooray for squats and calories!
I’m so happy to hear you’re loving your legs!
Totally agree – if you’re negative, you will attract negative things and people into your life. Have you seen the movie The Secret? It’s a documentary and it’s on Netflix. It talks about this a lot, the law of attraction, because that’s what you described. I recommend you to watch it. I think you’ll like it.
No, I haven’t seen that movie! I’m definitely going to check it out though!
Another great post, Lisa! I’m a big-time believer in the power of positive thinking and the huge impact it has on our lives. Sure, there are situations in life that we have absolutely no control over, but working on reacting to them in a positive way is what makes the biggest difference. I know I used to struggle big time with dwelling on negativity, and I don’t know exactly when it clicked, but at some point I began to realize how much happiness I was stealing from myself. It’s not always easy to be positive, but it sure is worth it.
Things may come up in life that are hard, but everyone goes through this and we have the choice with how we will react to those, I completely agree with what you’re saying. Why dwell on things when we can live life!
Very true…it’s so easy to be hard on ourselves, nice to have a reminder. The blog challenge sounds fantastic!! Any idea what the price is?
I’m not too sure yet Rebecca, but I’ll post as soon as I hear!
Love this post sweets! I find negative thoughts still try and creep into my mind but I now have a lot more tools and tricks up my sleeve to counter these negative thoughts with positive ones! Like you said positivity breeds positivity which is why I know you and I’ve have connected – so excited to have you in my life girlie! xo
It’s so important to have those tools! The hardest part for me at first was to actually implement them into my lifestyle, now it’s just like second nature! I’m so excited I have you in my life too! Yay:)
What to say, what to say…fabulous post per ush:).
A great reminder that I’m sure EVERYBODY needs once in a while – to be POSTIVE, nobody likes a Debby Downer, & that negativity doesn’t ever benefit anything.
Thoughts that make me feel bad about myself bully their way into my brain too often #workinprogress.
I bet if more people took on your advice & wisdom in this post( seeking the good in life), depression & other damaging mental illnesses would not be so abundant.
I mean, stress will ALWAYS be there. But it’s how we deal/look at these situations that determines our over all well-being & happiness I think.
Xxx
Hey, a work in progress is better than no progress at all! I feel it’s so important to spread messages like this, especially while magazines make us feel bad about our bodies when we should celebrate what we have! I wish they’d promote self-love instead of the new diet trends!
Great post and I will be joining the blog challenge! I love my arms
Wahoo for arm love:)
You’re so right–what we choose to do with negative thoughts is completely OUR choice! Every person in this world experiences doubt on a daily basis, but those who replace it will self-affirming thoughts and actions of love are those who are most fulfilled. This was a beautiful post!
Thanks so much for sharing Rita’s Blog Improvement Program with us; I’m definitely interested! I’m like you in that I have a million “I should already know this” questions, however I never know who to ask!
Hope you’re having a wonderful week, love! xoxoxo <3
Thank you my love! Oh man, especially for us bloggers, I feel like I should really know more than I do! Oopsie;) Love you!! xox
Girl, you are talking my language! I love this post!! We have the choice to be happy, angry, sad, or abundant! Thoughts are everything!!
xxoo
I know that you love all this! Love you!xo
Great post! I try to eliminate the words “I can’t” from my vocabularly and change them to “I will.” When I doubt myself about something, like I did this past weekend with my CrossFit competition, I try to change my thinking, to “I will do this or I can do this!” Self-doubt will only make you feel worse about yourself. As you said, it is all about changing our thoughts to positive ones and treating ourselves better overall!
That’s a great idea to eliminate the words “I can’t”, I like that! That’s so awesome that you implemented those words into your CrossFit competition!
i LOVE the idea of the fact that WE have control over our beliefs about ourselves. i have been focusing on that ever since i read spirit junkie. the idea that we can CHOOSE happiness and love is really comforting to me and it makes me feel so empowered whenever i remind myself of that. really helps to fight the negative thoughts!
Yay! I’m so happy you’re loving that book and working on being empowered! Fighting those negative thoughts with positive ones is the best feeling!
