Good Morning! Happy Monday and hope you all had a great weekend.
Do you get annoyed when people are cheerful on Monday’s? I used to find those people so obnoxious, but now I’ve become one of those people. Ha.
Things change when you have a different outlook on life. It’s all about perspective.
I never mind Monday’s, but Tuesday’s seem to be the day that completely drags on.
It makes Monday easier to enjoy when our weekend had weather like this.
Clear skys and sunny. That always helps to improve the mood.
Even though it was sunny, it’s still painfully cold out, but that fact doesn’t make me want to switch up my Breakfasts at all…

I settled in with the same old bowl of buckwheat, coffee, and caught up on the Lance Armstrong interview.
What did you all think of it?
This breakfast totally takes the cake for my new favorite thing.
I jazzed it up a little by adding a tablespoons of raw cacao powder. Yum.
This weekend, I had plans to do some fun things, but I kind of have the feeling I’m catching the beginnings of a cold. I’m trying my best to avoid that from happening.
{ ahem, my new favorite tea + Gabrielle’s amazing book }
This meant the weekend was kept low key. It also made it the perfect opportunity to cuddle up under the blanket and read with a warm cup of tea by my side.
I decided I should probably be a bit more productive with life and made myself some nourishment before I had to head out and meet a friend for coffee.
Perfect fuel for those days where you want to hide and curl up in bed. It’s okay if you’re totally jealous with the above dish.
It was my new favorite creamy nutritional yeast sauce, spaghetti squash, and zucchini.
I don’t know how people could not like this delicious squash. It’s the perfect blank canvas for anything. You can make it sweet, spicy, savory, whatever you’re in the mood for really!
After, I managed to get myself out of my lazy clothes into something more appropriate for public.
Surprisingly, I ordered a tea. Coffee, a sore throat, and upset stomach didn’t sound like the best combo at all.
Later on, I decided I should probably move a little since I had basically sat around all day. I went on a nice walk before coming home to spend the evening relaxing.
In favor of spending the night out with my friends, I opted to hang out with my Sister for some bonding time.
{ this picture took about 21 years to actually convince my Sister to take a photo with me…she’s too cool apparently }
We decided on a scary movie. Nothing says sisterly bonding more than watching a terrifying movie together.
It was called the House Next Door or something, we kept on forgetting the name of it which clearly tells you a lot about it.
To top off the night, I snacked on a bowl of ice cream before bed.
{ My favorite coconut ice cream }
Clearly the best choice to soothe a sore throat.
Well, I’m calling it a night over here.
Did you watch the Lance Armstrong interview? What did you think?
Favorite ice cream flavor?
What’s your best tip to curing a sore throat?
Have a marvelous Monday all!

Oh rest up and keep drinking that tea!!!
I have never seen coconut milk ice cream over here I would love to try it! My fave is mint choc chip.
Haven’t seen the interview yet. Kind of sad!
I can’t believe you haven’t seen coconut milk ice cream! It is amazing! Ohh, I miss mint chocolate chip! That was my favorite too. Haha, the interview wasn’t too good anyways, just basically what everyones been talking about over the past few weeks.
I will try this buckwheat bowl for tomorrow’s breakfast, just decided. It looks too good not to. Sounds like a relaxing weekend you had! And I am jealous on that sunny weather. We are buried in snow and it’s minus onehundredthousand.
It’s so good! I hope you enjoy! Oh my goodness. I just we could have one day of snow! I just love it so much haha.
Sunshine always helps my mood too. Now all I need is the warm weather to accompany it
That buckwheat bowl looks awesome. Any way to eat chocolate for breakfast is okay with me!
Let’s move to the beach together:) I would love to live in sunny weather all the time, and then maybe once per year (like Christmas) get snow. Now where does such a place exist?;)
Hey Lisa! I don’t think I’ve ever commented here, though I do read your blog. In light of your posts about recovery: I know it’s a constant battle (I struggle, too), but it doesn’t seem like you ate much today? I hope there are things you left out! Your body needs nourishment to get over this nasty bug!
Thank you very much Lesley! I appreciate the comment! This definitely is not at all what I ate today! This was just 2 out of the 5 meals I had! Oh gosh, haha I think I’d die a little;) Thanks for the support!
Tea and rest! Hope you feel better girl!
I am one of those happy Monday people, haha! I am happy every day
Glad you had a great weekend, sister time is always great too! <3
Feeling better today! Thanks for the well wishes Katie! The rest and tea definitely helped:) I love how you spread your happiness each and everyday on your blog, it’s contagious!
I’ve seen clips of the interview, but I haven’t actually sat down and watched it yet. It depresses me – I was one of the people being like “What? He didn’t dope, he’s just awesome!” Way to prove me wrong, Lance.
Favourite ice cream flavour: peanut butter chocolate or chocolate chip cookie dough. Although anything involving mint and chocolate has been growing on me lately…
I was the same Sam! Honestly, the whole interview just made me sad. Mint and chocolate has always been my favorite flavour! Well that, or just plain ol’ vanilla.
Spaghetti squash is amazing! You are right…everyone should like it!
Thanks for having such a positive outlook on Mondays. Thanks to you, I am now going to be POSITIVE and make today a great day!
Aw, you are too sweet Hannah!!
favorite ice cream flavor: cake batter or birthday cake for sure hands down without a doubt absolutely! haha. best sore throat tip? honey and lemon!! a spoonful multiple times a day!!
I’ve never even heard of cake batter ice cream?! That sounds insanely delicious!! Oh yes, I’ve been doing the honey and lemon all week! Still no luck, I’m thinking it must be some sort of virus! Yuck.
So I looked on iherb for the peanut flour, and as much as I want it, shipping costs are so expensive to go to Australia, so I might just have to try and live without it )’:
My favourite ice cream flavour is a toss up between coffee or banana (or just both together!). But I am partial to hazelnut gelato….
Whenever I have a sore throat I gargle with warm salt water, which sounds disgusting, but it helps get rid of any nasties. Hope you feel better soon!
Oh darn! I didn’t think of the expensive shipping! Hopefully they’ll just decide to bring it to Australia soon! Oohh, gelato is the best! I haven’t had it in far too long. Thanks for the well wishes Alouise!
tuesdays drag on and on so much for me too!!!!
I don’t get annoyed when people are cheerful on Mondays, but I DO get annoyed when people are cheerful when I’m not
Thankfully that’s usually limited to when I’m tired or hungry, so as long as I get enough sleep and have some good food in my belly, I don’t mind happy people
And I wouldn’t mind some of that sunny weather you guys have either! It’s been cloudy and cold for such a long time that I can’t even remember the last time we saw the sun. For real. Every day it’s either snowing or overcast, and that takes a serious toll on the old mood. Bah! Enough complaining. Happy Monday, love! Hope your week is off to a great start, and hope that sore throat clears up!
Haha, I totally get the same! Oopsy;) Man, I can’t believe how crazy it is over there. I guess it makes sense, since you know it’s Edmonton and all.
What kind of coconut ice cream do you buy? I love the so delicious kind. You are so right about spaghetti squash, you can really put ANYTHING on it. It’s so versatile!
I buy the coconut bliss, vanilla! It’s awesome.
Ice cream is so key to soothing a sore throat! You and your sister both have the same beautiful eyes. Gorgeous girls!!!
I can’t wait to read that Gabby book! I am posting my first vlog EVER this week with my review and thoughts on Spirit Junkie – eep!
I totally dislike Tuesday more than I dislike Monday. Monday you still have that post weekend high going. Tuesday it’s gone and you’re not even halfway through the week!
Thank you my dear friend! I loved your vlog, it was awesome:) Tuesday’s are just a blah day, not quite the middle of the week and not the very beginning. Totally agree with you there.
Totally agree about Tuesdays. They’re the looongest day of the week. Feel better, girl!
I still can’t get nutrition yeast to taste creamy and good. working on it!
I always drink tea, but I bet you’re not surprised
I seriously don’t have a fav ice cream flavour because I just LOVE ice cream lol, but anything with chocolate and coffee and nuts appeals to me
But I really like mint and fruity ones too hahahaha ok ok I just like them all because I love Tiger Tiger and that doesn’t fall into either category hahaha
Anyways, thanks for including your buckwheat bowl in the post! I need to make it once and for all lol
Hha, not surprised at all! I like vanilla more than chocolate ice cream! I’m a weirdo like that. Oh and mint too! Can’t choose. Love you!
I switched to tea a lot this week too! For some reason coffee started making my stomach upset and making me really shaky and dizzy, which is GREATLY upsetting since I just discovered Starbucks vanilla blonde roast!
I love lazy days–so glad you were able to have one! (I’m currently still in my PJs…)
Have a lovely Monday AND Tuesday girl!
Oh man, so weird!! I just tried blonde roast and holy moly that stuff is good! I was missing out. Have a lovely day too friend! PS I swearrrrr I’m getting to your e-mail this weekend. It’s been a crazy few weeks! Bare with me haha.
Beautiful picture of you and your sister! I understand about the 21 years….I have nonpicture taking people in my family too!
Thanks Kim! I used to be that non picture taking person, but now that I’m blogging I must admit I take more selfies than a normal person would hah.
Hope you avoid the cold! Ice cream is perfect for a scratchy throat.
I’ve been relying on smoothies and cold drinks because I can’t shake this silly sore throat! Killing me slightly…
I was almost worried when I didn’t see a starbucks photo in the beginning of this post. I sure have known it would eventually come
Ha Ha.
Feel better girl.
Haha, you know to well Jessie!
I completely agree–ice cream most definitely IS the best sore throat remedy! Whenever I have a cold, I gravitate towards frozen yogurt, smoothies or ice cream.
I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well, though, love. I’m sending get-well-soon vibes to you! <3
This creamy nutritional yeast sauce sounds pretty amazing. And not I'm totally craving spaghetti squash. I don' t know why I haven't purchased one in over a year?! Maybe because I'm slightly obsessed with kabocha and butternut? Nonetheless, you've officially inspired me, so it's definitely going to happen this week.
I'm so glad you were able to spend some girl time with your sister! You two are stunning! <3 Love and hugs <3 xoxoxo!
I’ve basically been living on smoothies and all that jazz since I’ve gotten this silly sore throat. You definitely have to pick up spaghetti squash, well if it’s an options between all 3 of those squash, kabocha will always win:) Duh. Love you!
