Comfort Breakfast

Ah, I woke up this morning in a rather delightful mood. I have some fun plans happening tonight, so that helped to put a smile on my face.

Even though it was rather early to be awake, hi 4:45! It still didn’t stop me from having a good morning.

I immediately stumbled out of bed and made my way to the kitchen for some tea and thoughts for Breakfast. Ever have those mornings where you just have no idea what you want? Everything sounds good. Such a huge life problem.

Eventually, I decided to spice things up a bit and make pancakes! Pancakes are always more fun on the weekends anyways.

banana pancakes

I made a batch of vegan pancakes, with some blog reading on the side. Just perfect for a quiet and cold morning.

I’ll just be teasing you with this recipe until Monday, so stay patient.

Topped with blueberries and almond butter. Makes me feel a little warm and fuzzy inside.

My go to flavors for pancakes are always bananas and cinnamon. I love that the cinnamon and banana heat up together and create a delicious combo. Plus, pancakes are one of the ultimate comfort Breakfast foods for me.

Post Breakfast, I got my workout gear on and pilate-d it out. I did this little number x 3. It’s a keeper.

Pop Pilates

Also, I wanted to jump back to my post yesterday where I said I wanted to make some changes. Some people were wondering what I meant by “just do it”.

Firstly, I want to just commit and sign up to take that pilates teachers training. I always worry about things that could happen instead of just going for it. I’ve also been looking into maybe returning to school or finding another job I like more (since my last one was just….not good, to say the least). It’s a tough decision because I have absolutely no idea in the world what I want to do, and it freaks me out. Such is life.

best of life

I’ll figure it out eventually, sometimes I just wish someone could chose what I’ll do for the rest of my life for me. Wouldn’t that be peachy?

Well, thanks for listening to this random rambling for today. Didn’t mean to really spill those thoughts, but I guess I needed to!

Now, I need to plan the rest of my day. I’m pretty sure I’ll end up baking, running a few errands, cleaning (ick), making a coffee stop, and possibly a nice walk with a friend if the weather permits.

What is your favorite pancake flavor?

What are your comfort foods?

Was it hard for you to choose what you wanted to do for work or in school?

Have a wonderful Saturday friends!

  1. Ah, Pancakes always work!! Excited for the recipe!! I know how you feel. I’ve been there too. I tried out a lot and it took a while until I knew I was at the right place. Just let it come!! It will turn out good, I know it and I think you would be a great Pilates Teacher!!

  2. That is so awesome that you want to become a Pilates instructor. Go you!!

  3. You should sign up, you are so interested in pilates it may be a good experience.

  4. I was up at 4:53 today  Ridiculous. I blame it on the fact that I was in bed by 10 last night… my body just doesn’t like to sleep much longer than 6 hours. It DOES like cereal, though… which is pretty much what I have for breakfast every morning, weekend or not :D

And I think that you really should just go for the Pilates thing. You’ll never know unless you try, and if you don’t then you’ll probably always be wondering. I can definitely relate to having a hard time deciding what it is that I want to do with my life, but I guess it’s always better to try and do something rather than sit around and do nothing.

    • We’re just early morning twins haha.
That’s exactly what I’m thinking! It’s just so gosh darn hard for me to decide on one thing.

  5. I cannot wait for the pancake recipe. I continue to be on the hunt for a great vegan pancake recipe, so I am hoping that this will fit the bill! :)

  6. I used to hate pancakes but the ones my boyfriend makes are so fluffy and delicious that my mind has changed :)

  7. These pancakes look so good!

I can completely relate to everything you said about work and school. I have definitely experienced similar feelings. I think it sounds like the Pilates training would be great. Go for it, girl!!

  8. I’m a lot older then you and I still don’t know! Definitely take the plunge and try out different things. It does get harder (I sound really old saying that). If you have the time and money go with your gut and even if you don’t like it it more knowledge, an extra qualification and maybe you’ll meet life long friend’s or figure out another path,

  9. Mmm your pancakes always look incredible!

  10. I love pumpkin pancakes..hands down my favorite! Blueberry is a close second! I don’t think I will ever stop wondering what I want to do with my life, it’s to the point where I just have to bite off ONE of the many things that I want to do!! Good luck with the training, I think fitness teaching of any kind would be a blast!

  11. A major tease indeed!! I’ve never met a pancake I didn’t like, so I already know I’m going to love this recipe. Bananas are my go-to flavor as well, especially when coupled with peanut butter or any other nut butter. Yummmm.

Girl, definitely go for the pilates teacher training!! Who knows, maybe THAT is your calling, and you’ll become an amazing pilates master! ;) Seriously though, I firmly believe that if we follow our hearts, and pursue what interests us most, doors will open and things will fall perfectly into place. <3

Comfort foods: anything with melted cheese, chocolate or peanut butter! LOVE YOU! <3

    • Yum, agreed! Banana is just one of the best fruits out there!
Very true Sara! Who knows, it may be just what I need!!
I definitely just need to follow my heart!

  12. yay for pilates training! Maybe you could train me via Skype?! ;) I think my all-time fav comfort meal is a grilled cheese sandwich + tomato soup. OR MAC & CHEESE!
I LOVE macadamia nut pancakes topped with either coconut syrup or lilikoi butter. <- Hawaii comfort food. :D

    • That would be awesome:)
Oh yes, grilled cheese and tomato soup totally screams comfort!!
Macadamia pancakes?! Um, I need to try these!

    • Haha, I thought it looked cool;)
Mmm…raspberry oatmeal pancakes sound good! Well, with blueberries instead because I’m surprisingly not a raspberry fan!

  15. I couldn’t get up that early if I wanted to!!! My body likes getting up at 7am, so I roll with it!
I’m dying over those pancakes!! It took me a couple years to figure out what I wanted to do, but now… I’m reevaluating! lol

    • Haha, it’s tough to choose something and stick to it! Everytime I think I find my passion, I try it out and hate it…dang!

  16. My ultimate comfort food is a Beverly Hills Juice Club Cacao Banana and Veggie Juice they add coconut chunks and its just the most amazing thing in then world. I have been dealing with similar issues..I want to go back to school but my husband and I move around a lot and I am constantly having to settle in somewhere and than move again so even online school just seems like a bother since we travel and are on the go. I want to expand my personal training career so I have been taking weekend classes to earn more skills since that is easy for me to do. Sending you good vibes of growth and expansion in your knowledge love and shine CourtStar

    • Yum! That sounds absolutely divine!
It’s tough when you just don’t know where you want to end up! Especially if you’re on the move! Thanks for the good vibes Courtney! Sending the same back to you!
