Hello friends, can you even believe the end of February is here! Finally.
February feels like one of those months that drags along forever, even though it’s the shortest. Not sure how that works, my guess is because it lies right in the middle of Spring and Winter. So by this time we’re kind of sick of the cold, just waiting for that Spring air! Ah, I just love Spring time.
Speaking of loves, it’s time for another edition of February favorites, well, monthly favorites to be exact. This month was a short and sweet one, but that didn’t stop me from finding tons of new favorite things. Okay, some aren’t new, but they’re my favorite things in any case.
Favorite Foods
Coconut Milk.
I’m not too sure what I did before coming across coconut milk. Compared to almond milk (which I still love), it’s incredibly rich. You need just a little amount to get a full effect of the flavor.
Baked Banana Oatmeal.
For whatever reason, I always avoided baked oatmeal because when I looked at other recipes, the final product came out looking so wimpy and small. Even though this isn’t the most voluminous Breakfast in the world, it fills me up wonderfully. I’m still surprised by this, I also find it much bigger than some of the other ones I’ve attempted to make before.
Dark Chocolate With Sea Salt.
Oh man. Does this even need an explanation? If you haven’t tried the dark chocolate and sea salt combination. Do it now, I can’t describe how well the flavors blend together. They say it’s good for your heart and a great antioxidant, so I’ll just keep on eating it.
Black Americano…with a dusting of cinnamon.
Maybe cinnamon in general should be a favorite…I think I may add it to everything.
I’ve even tried converting to adding some pizazz to my morning drinks, but I just can’t do the sweet route. I like my coffee strong, black, and plain. It’s the only way I feel wide awake in the mornings. Coffee just doesn’t feel right with all the milk and sugar added.
Favorite Beauty Finds
Bobbi Brown Bronzer.
For skin products, I am extremely picky when choosing new items. I have very pale and sensitive skin, therefore I have to be careful what I use on my face. Bobby brown is one brand of bronzer I’ve been able to trust completely, ever since I completely cleared up my skin.
This is one topic I could go on and on about. Especially different makeup products I use, and what helped clear up my skin. I could do a post if anyone is interested?
OPI – An Affair In Red Square.
Let’s keep this one simple. Red = bold and gorgeous.
Favorite Show
Downton Abbey.
I know this show is probably incredibly outdated and overhyped at this point, but I can’t get enough of it. Sure, it started off slow and took me the first few episodes to get into. But, now I see why it’s an addicting show. The drama, the era, the accent, the culture, I love everything about it.
Now, I still need to finish Season Two so no spoilers please.
Favorite Workout
Pilates.
If you’ve read my blog at all, you know I’m obsessed. I even have plans to take my teacher training this April!:)
Try free online workouts like blogilates. My go-to for at home pilates workouts. Casey is cute, fun, and super motivating. There’s no excuses now to not get a workout in.
Favorite Read
A brilliant book! I’m going to go out and say this might be one of my favorite books of all time. That’s big since I’m a total book worm. I can’t wait to check out the movie now!
Favorite Fashion
Brights.
So simple to add a little pop into your wardrobe, just brighten it up.
There’s nothing better than a stunning piece of bright clothing that instantly puts a smile on my face and some swag in my step. I’ve been super excited about the upcoming bright trends. Bright is the new black.
With that, see you later February. Good riddance.
What were your favorite things in February?
What are you looking forward to in March?
Have you tried any new workouts that you love?
Have a fantastic Thursday!

I am loving the mint green color for fashion right now. I am coveting a mint green bag and I think I might go ahead and splurge on it this weekend!
Go on and splurge!! You deserve it!
I love the heels, superpretty!! And the baked banana oats – I need to try them. I do Blogilates too, I love it. I also like some of the workouts from Tone It Up or RockBodyTv. Cool stuff for home workouts.
I love Tone It Up too, those girls and blogilates are probably my favorite, especially since I prefer working out at home.
I’m so obsessed with the heels color!
I’m looking forward to our Arizona trip in march! Two weeks away!!
Ah, that will be SO amazing!
Those heels are rockin’! Love that color. And I’m with you on pilates — greatest workout ever.
My current favorites: vanilla blonde coffee at Starbucks, grey nail polish, ombre hair, and big turquoise jewelry.
I’m ready for spring weather/clothes in March!
So obsessed with pilates, it’s so much fun!
Kind of love all your favorites too! I wish I could pull of ombre, it’s so in, but it just wouldn’t look right no me haha.
I’m totally with you on all your favorites! I love the mint color of those shoes and I’m super excited it’s one of the colors of the season! I’m so ready for spring clothes!
Ah me too!
I looooove Americanos! My airport treat when I fly out early is an Americano with a little whip, cinnamon, and cocoa powder. Mmmm!
Oh my gosh, I’m so obsessed with them, they’re all I drink these days coffee wise.
Okay, now I’m going to have to try one of those next time I’m at Starbucks, which will most likely be today;)
It IS the last day of February, now isn’t it?? Wow, February really has flown by. I am definitely not complaining though. March= my birthday and my parents visiting me, so I am so ready for the coming month. Plus, I have a major itch for Spring so hopefully we start experiencing some Spring weather!
I have been loving the coconut flavor lately, as well. I, however, have been using coconut flavored almond milk. In fact, I just cooked some soup last night with it. It is tasty and has great nutritional stats!
So crazy right! I can’t believe how time has flown by!
Yay for birthday month! It’s my Sister’s birthday this month too!
I’ve heard of that almond/coconut milk, but haven’t seen it here where I live! I’m sure it will come eventually.
I’m so freakin’ excited for Spring. Get me awaaaay from this cold. I’m so over it.
And can I just say, you have the best taste is shoes ever? Stiletto-d and bright is the way to go :-p
I’m totally overdoing it on Winter over here, since we didn’t even get a drop of snow, I can imagine you’re more ready for Spring than me by that haha.
I’m in love with those Spring shoes!!! In March, I’m looking forward to longer runs and new macrobiotic recipes! No new workouts…just running! I need to do more Pilates though
I love makeup/skin care posts so I would def. be interested in reading! If you like sea salt & dark chocolate, you must try TJ’s version of it with caramels, so good.
Sounds good! I’ll definitely plan one out:)
Okay, I need to look for that chocolate next!
You made certain nice points there. I did a search on the subject matter and found the majority of persons will agree with your blog.
For me, March always seems to drag on a bit! It’s a pretty long month and the weather is usually all over the place. And yes, Downton Abbey is amazing. I just hopped on that train a few weeks ago and I’m already through season 3! Crazy!
Ah, I need to catch up! I just love everything about the show.
I really want to see life of pi. I am all about super dark chocolate.
My very favorite thing about February is the fact that today is the last day of it
I’m so over this ridiculously funky month… bring on Spring! As for March, two words: Hawaiian vacation
But I guess February wasn’t ALL that bad. I rediscovered my love for word search puzzles, found an awesome new mascara (Maybelline Colossal Volum’), read a good book (The Wise Man’s Fear), and combined my love for coffee and tea into one tasty drink. Still… bring on Spring…
Hope you’re having the BEST time in Hawaii!!!
I started that book and am SO excited about it, thanks to your recommendation!
I finally bought a pair of mint green pants and am loving them! I’m so looking forward to spring and actually… I’m breaking all fashion rules today and wearing white pants! Eeek! It’s just such a gorgeous day out (70′s here in Cali) that I couldn’t help myself! Rules are meant to be broken right!?!
Oh man, where did you buy your pants?! I’m dying to buy a pair of those!
I’m just too excited for Spring! I feel your love
Rules are totally meant to be broken!
OMG, I need those shoes!!! I seriously can’t believe it’s March tomorrow, that’s crazy talk!
Right, they are so cute!
Feb was short and sweet. I love heels actually, I bought a nail polish in that color and simply loving it. I have heard so much about bobbi brown bronzer- will have to try it soon
my fav workout is yoga. I m going to look at pilates you recommended. and please do a post on skin/acne
Oh, sounds like a cute color for nail polish!
It’s a really great bronzer! Definitely recommend it!!
I’ll definitely do a post on skin care soon!
So jealous! I can’t drink coffee black – the acidity gives me heartburn!
favorites from february were learning more about our bodies and getting closer to having balance (hopefully), and of course loved our black coffee. looking forward to seeing the sun more in March – hopefully hehe
That definitely deserves to be a favorite! You ladies have been doing fabulous! Glad there’s other black coffee lovers:) It’s the best.
I read Life of Pi years ago and loved it too. Movies can definitely ruin books, but the director did a good job of making it light hearted and charming without being cheesy. I’m glad it won some well deserved Oscars. Make sure to watch it in 3-D for the great graphics because I’m pretty sure it doesn’t play in IMAX any more. Let me know what you think of it
It’s so awesome! Oh great, now I’m more excited to check out the movie!
Great list here Lisa! I am going to try that banana oatmeal recipe sometime… I feel the exact same way you did about baked oatmeal recipes being too small, not voluminous and all of that. Though I do know they fill you up, so yeah, I will try this version
Downton Abbey is most FABULOUS! Glad to hear you enjoy it, legitimately my most favorite show
Best thing about February? Errr well this month has been rough all around so I’m just glad it’s over! Poop answer I know
On a last note, those heels are pretty dang awesome
Haha, yah I totally hate that with baked oats! I like things big.
Ah, it’s such a great show! Thank gosh, my parents forced me to watch it haha, seriously though.
You know I love my coconut milk!!
And I would love for you to do a makeup post – your makeup always looks so good.
I’ll definitely do it!
I used to make baked oatmeal all the time but haven’t had it in months! I’ve become so lazy when it comes to my meals (particularly breakfast) that I rarely take the time to make recipes like that anymore. I need to!
I’ve been loooving anything mint green this month! Such a perfect color- I swear it looks good on everyone. Plus, it will be even more fun to wear during the spring months. (:
I’m usually lazy with Breakfasts too, which is why I make them the night before hah.
I feel like the mint looks well on everyone too! It’s such a pretty color.
Great list Lisa! I have had pretty similar February favorites actually.
I’ve been eating baked oatmeal for breakfast for quite often recently. I also need my strong, black coffee in the morning. I can’t stand any sugar or other sweetener in my coffee! Oh, and that Lind’s dark chocolate with sea salt is sooo delicious!
I’ve been loving yoga lately and hopefully can practise more often in March. I’m looking forward to more sunny days and riding my new longboard!
Yay, glad to hear there are more black coffee lovers out there! I just don’t understand the sugar/cream thing!
Ah, it’s my absolute favorite chocolate, so decadent.
My favorite is dark chocolate with caramel. I love the mint green heels! I could never pull them off but they’re super cute
You’re the second person to recommend that chocolate, definitely going to check that one out!
I LOVE that chocolate! But my favorite one is still the dark one with orange in it! I also love coconut milk but sadly it upsets my stomach a bit so i can’t use it very often. And these heels are beautiful! I can’t wait for spring, i want to wear something else than boots!! Have a nice weekend!
I’m going to have to try that chocolate out too, now I have a fun list of all these new ones to try:)
I’m too excited for Spring too and all the cute clothing!
