Happy Wednesday! We’re back in action with everyones favorite day of the week! What I Ate Wednesday.
Where the heck has the week gone?! It’s passed by in a blink of the eye already. Let’s not waste time and get straight to the party.
Tuesdays are my cardio days. Spin is obviously my favorite form of cardio, but I decided to forego my usual spin class, sleep in a few extra minutes, and did my own spin class right at home. My workout left me famished, phew. I’m surprised I was able to kick my own butt so well. I definitely love doing my own thing in the morning. It’s a nice mixup to go to classes and then do something at home as well.
Breakfast -
After my workout, it was Breakfast time. My favorite meal of the day. Bananas and oats are probably my favorite way of refuelling up after a great workout. Simple, easy, sweet, and not to mention delicious.
I prepped a bowl of baked banana oatmeal last night and kept it in the fridge, so it was prepped for me this morning.
Pretty much the basic routine, with the usual side of coffee and some blog reading. This is by far my favorite way to start the day, and I highly doubt it will change anytime soon.
Lunch -
Bowl of quinoa, some roasted tomatoes, red bell pepper, and zucchini, tossed together with a little marinara sauce and finally topped with nutritional yeast mixed with a little coconut oil. Threw some mashed avocado on the side and called it Lunch.
Snack -
I got hit with a random bread craving and toasted up a simple piece of ezekiel, spread with almond butter, and topped with some fresh berries. Mmmm…
Sometimes, when I’m feeling extra snazzy, I melt the berries a tad bit, add a dash of cinnamon, and mash them up so they end up in a more jam like form. Delicious.
Dinner -
There were a bunch of parsnips hanging out in my fridge that I forgot about so I made sure to roast one up for Dinner. Roasted in some coconut oil and a little sprinkling of rosemary. Alongside a side salad, that ended up being not so tasty or edible, in this case.
My body has been reacting very odd lately…I don’t want to bore you all with too much detail, but now all of a sudden I’m having bad reactions to a lot of foods. First mustard greens, now sunflower seeds. Like hives, chest tightness, trouble swallowing, itchy skin. It’s very random and weird. Hm…my Doctor appointment can’t come fast enough.
To make up for Dinner, I munched on a few cookie dough balls and of course will follow up with a proper pre-bed meal.
Hope you all are having a delicious filled day!
Do you meal plan?
What’s your favorite post workout meal?
Do you have a morning routine?
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

i know a lot of people that get reactions from greens! it is usually from the soil it grew in. Hope the doctor knows. Keep us posted!!
Oh, that’s so bizarre! I never thought of that but it makes sense!
Unfortunately for me, it’s ALL mustard greens including mustard, mustard powder, arugula, kale, broccoli, brussels, rutabaga, turnips, and cauliflower. Ugh, it’s annoying haha. It used to be a sensitivity but now everytime I eat these things I get killer hives, itchiness, trouble breathing, not fun!
I meal plan dinners – it makes things so much easier in terms of knowing what to buy at the grocery store and sticking to a budget, as well as using up stuff that I already have in the fridge. Lunches and breakfasts tend to be whatever I feel like though.
Sorry that you’re having more weird food reactions!
I definitely need to start meal planning! I know it would make life so much easier.
I’ve had random reactions from foods too- it’s definitely unpleasant and annoying when you can’t figure out what’s going on….
I meal plan dinners, because I hate when my boyfriend & I stand around for 5-10 minutes saying “What do you want to cook?” , “I don’t know, what do you want?” We usually write out a list of 5 or 6 dinner options and keep it on the fridge to choose from.
They’re so odd to get randomly! I used to have minor reactions, but they seem to get worse. The body is odd ha.
favorite post workout meal is usually a protein smoothie! so many good options and ways to change it up!
I hope your doctor can figure out what’s going on! Lunch looks delicious and I NEED to try roasted parsnips!
Smoothies and instant protein bakes are my favourite after workout meals! Lunch sounds good I have a longing for quinoa today!
You poor thing! I hope you figure things out with the doctor and feel better soon! this must be tough! Aside from that I still think your meals look amazing and I am totally reminded I need to try roasted parsnips.
It definitely isn’t too much fun, at least I see her this week! I kind of can’t wait. Roasted parsnips are the best!
After I ate 500lb of strawberries the other night, my chin started getting itchy/hivey. I hope I’m not developing an allergy. Ah! That would be the worst! Keep us posted on what your Dr says.
Oh no, hopefully no strawberry allergy! I may cry if that happened haha. I’ll keep you posted for sure!
Your snacks always look SO tasty! And I am seriously loving roasted parsnips as a snack now that I finally starting making them. So, so good!!
I am definitely a meal planner. If I don’t meal plan then I spend way more at the grocery store on things that I do not need (this still happens sometimes
), and it takes me way too long to figure out what to make on work nights. Meal planning is a must for me!
They are awesome right! I can’t stop eating them!
I really need to meal plan haha, because I totally do that!
Mmmmmh, your food looks delicious. Sorry for these odd reactions – hope the doctor can help! I do plan lunch, since I have to take it to the office to have it ready here. I mostly do a run in the morning right after waking up with some HIIT and strength included. Perfect start of the day.
I love mornings! I usually have breakfast, and then get a good workout. My fav post workout meal is something carby and with protein – but I’m considering adding a protein shake right after the workout to have at the gym because lately I’ve not been recovering/have been feeling lethargic after working out!
Ack! Sorry to hear about the strange reactions! I’ve been dealing with some sort of rash on my face for a little while now and I have NO idea what the heck is up. I tried to eliminate some possible trigger foods, but no luck… Hope you get things figured out soon, ’cause allergies are just… no; especially when you don’t know what you’re allergic to.
My morning routine is pretty much like yours, aside from the workouts. Early mornings are pretty much my favorite time because I can just enjoy the best meal of the day in peace and have a relaxing start to my day before things start to get crazy.
Allergies are just the worst! I find it so odd, that just out of the blue they come about slowly, and them bam, they are horrible allergies. Weird.
Love the early mornings:)
Eek! I hope your doctor’s appointment gives you some clarity (and instruction!) for these reactions. No fun at all!
Morning routine is tea, workout, blog, breakfast! I love brown rice, collard greens, and a great tofu dish after a hard workout (if it’s dinner time) otherwise a shake is great. I meal plan only to the extent of potential meals throughout the week, but not specific to this meal on that day. Happy Wednesday!
Mmm…that sounds great! I need to try out collard greens! I’ve never actually had them before!
I normally have at least a bit of a meal plan for the day; if i dont prepare what im going to be eating then ill end up probably have nothing nice at hand!!
That baked oatmeal looks delicious – some good oats or protein pancakes are definitely my fave post workout meal!
I finally found the one way I like nutrition yeast thanks to you, on spaghetti squash. So good!
Yayyy! Glad you like it!
I love sleeping in and reading blogs in the mornings I am off from school. It’s a nice peaceful way to start the day with some alone time because the craziness begins. Since I’m a big type A person, I love meal planning and prepping for the week ahead.
I definitely have a morning routine. I usually workout and then make a cup of coffee + protein powder and watch Kelly and Michael because I absolutely love Kelly Rippa. Haha! I hope your tummy troubles subside. It’s weird you’re getting reactions to more and more foods! I’m trying to think of what it could possibly be from but I have no idea!
Love Michael and Kelly! They’re my favorite part of my morning routine too. Wish they were on on the weekends too ha.
Oh no, sorry you are suddenly having strange reactions to certain foods. My brother suddenly developed an allergy to Almonds so it happens.
My favorite post-workout snack lately is my crockpot cinnamon apples and sweet potatoes topped with a little almond butter. Packed with healthy carbs and proteins to refuel
Allergies are so weird, right. I don’t understand how they just happen, but I guess they just do sometimes!
Omg, crockpot cinnamon apples sound divine!!
s0oooo sorry to hear your body is wigging out on you! mine is too…my stomach probs have only gotten worse in the last week. i had an appt today with the doc and got some stuff to get labs done. this is getting SO OLD.
glad you had a good spin class. i had a great spin class this morning! man i love it! i’m doing another one friday morning.
is it weird that i had an image of you trying to kick your own butt after i read that you were proud you kicked your own butt? ha.
Boo to our stomach problems! Hope yours get healed asap!
I know right, it totally is getting so old with me too, not a fan!
Ah, love our spin classes. Wouldn’t that be the best if we could do a class together. Dang our separation hah.
Hahaha, I think that’s awesome.
I used to hate parsnips, but I have actually started to like them roasted like that in recent years and your posts are giving me a huge craving! I don’t really “meal plan”. I always just buy my favourite staples from the market and grocery store and then plan my meals daily based on what I have.
Parsnips are my favorite now, I actually used to dislike them too!
Yah, I’m not a meal planner either, I try too but it usually fails ha.
Boo, I’m sorry you’re still experiencing painful reactions to certain foods. I wish I could offer some helpful advice or – even better – magically make them disappear but unfortunately, I’m neither a medic nor a magician
. Keeping my fingers crossed your doctor’s appointment will be helpful.
My morning routine? Getting dressed, stumbling down the stairs to pick up the newspaper in the hallway wishing the deliverer posted it directly to the individual flats
. Then prepare breakfast, eat, read some blogs.
So wish I was a magician so I could fix it too haha, if only.
I love reading about other peoples morning routines! So fun.
i hardly ever plan meals but i buy groceries with few recipes in mind and make meals depending upon what i have on hand. im sorry about the bad reaction again-doctor visit calling!!
I see my Doctor this week thank gosh!
I love breakfast too–such a great time to begin the day the right way!!
Just out of curiosity, what do you do for a living? Or are you currently a student?
I actually just quit my job, since I was having the worst time there. So right now I’m looking at my options. Not sure if I’ll return to work or school!
My tummy is really sensitive when it comes to greens as well. Actually, overdoing it on any vegetable makes my stomach pretty unhappy. Balancing out the foods I eat and listening to what I’m craving has definitely helped though!
PS: Toast with almond butter has made an appearance in my life on a daily basis lately. SO yummy!
So good right! I sometimes add strawberries, yum.
breakfast + blog reading is my favorite time of the day!
Hope your doc. apt. helps shed some light on your reactions!
I always meal plan, it makes things so much easier.
Since having the baby my morning routine is:
- feed baby,
- coffee,
- play with baby,
- baby goes down for nap,
-breakfast and a little me time
I try to meal plan and prep to accommodate my class schedule but totally failed this week. Oh well! I’m so sorry your stomach issues seem to just be evolving and not going away for good. Hopefully you can get it all figured out after your doctor’s visit!
Ah well, sometimes it doesn’t always happen. You’re better than me, I never meal plan, which actually isn’t the best at all.
