Chia Banana Protein Smoothie

It feels like I’ve been gone forever, in reality it’s been three days.

If you saw on twitter, my blog was in commission for most of the weekend, or so I thought. Somehow, I managed to block my own IP address from my website. Not even sure how that’s possible, as I don’t know how to black others. That would happen to me…

green power smoothie

Going green is quite easy, just throw a few spinach leaves into a smoothie and you instantly have a more nutrient filled meal. You can’t taste the spinach, I swear.

These have been my go to Dinners as of late. I just make sure to jam pack them with good stuff.

Chia Banana Protein Smoothie

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop sun warrior protein powder
  • a big handful of frozen spinach (so simple – just freeze a fresh bag of chopped and rinsed spinach)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 of an avocado (optional for added creaminess)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Just blend and enjoy!

What’s your favorite green filled food?

  1. Lmao blocking the IP address is something I would probably do… glad you got it all figured out though!! I did not celebrate St. Patrick’s day… I have two exams today, aint nobody got time for that! haha Happy Monday, love! Love the buddha quote. Screw negative comments <3

  2. Love the manicure so pretty! And I need to try that pumpkin/oatbran swap looks SO good. I realized that something with your blog was strange but I always managed to read the posts thankfully :-) and I hope you feel better now girl. It’s so good you took a break to reevaluate things! Happy Monday Beauty!!

  3. Glad you had a great weekend girl and glad you got the blog issue resolved too! Blog malfunctions are stressful!!

Love the nails, very pretty color for spring!!

    Happy Monday love! <3

  4. Great post and sounds like a fun weekend! I am with you in your love for Starbucks– I am currently drinking my way through a venti blonde roast right now and it’s awesome.

Also, your nails look fab! :)

  5. Glad you got the blog issue resolved!

The nails look so pretty! Careful with the gel/acrylic stuff though…I wore gel nails for years and my natural nails are so bad now. Really thin and break so easily. (I’m sure once in a while won’t hurt, but they look so pretty that you get them once and the next thing you know, you’ve been wearing them for 5 years).

    • You’re totally right! I had the same thing happen, but I went against what I said before and decided for these…I’m thinking once or twice a year won’t be so bad, but I’ll have to see! Hah

  6. Happy Blogiversary! All your meals look so great. I’m so inspired looking at this post. I am in love with that nail color too! So perfect for spring!

  7. Glad to see you back, hun! Missed you this weekend, but happy that you got to enjoy some time off too. Your nails are looking so pretty and really making me want to go in to get a manicure myself. I’m kind of scared that I’ll become addicted to gels though and I hear they can kind of wreck your nails.

No celebrations for me this weekend because the weather’s been absolute garbage. I holed up at home and did a lot of baking, though, so I guess I can’t complain :)

    • That’s what I’m a little afraid of too! I’ve had them before and got a little addicted, but I’m hoping this won’t be a monthly spending routine, since my nails can’t afford that ha.

  8. no feel like you HAVE to POST anything. time away is glorious! and so is coffee to coffee. I do that EVERY DAY! <3

  9. Thanks for sharing the pancake link! Those sound amazing!!

Love your dress, by the way. You look great! :)

  10. Green smoothies are definitely my favorite green filled food! I try to drink two a day!

  11. ooh yes! I’ve been looking for more green smoothie recipes and this one looks awesome

  12. mac and cheese of any variety is always good comfort food!! my grandpa LOVES mad men and always tells us we should watch it haha

  13. Glad you’re back! Coding, html, and any blog issues are totally not my thing either! Luckily my boyfriend is a computer genius!

  14. Love your pink top! I got my nails done last week that color – woo! I’m all about kale lately. Yesterday I had a rice dream cookie sandwich and it was amazingggg! Had healthy lentil soup for dinner to balance it out. Happy Monday :)

  15. Happy One Year Blog Anniversary! So exciting. I’m normally not a coffee drinker, but I’m been guzzling the Starbucks lately in honor of finals. It’s such a delicious treat.

  16. everyone says I should get into mad men but I have yet to watch it, i think I would like it though

  17. Happy 1st year of blogging…I absolutely loved your pink top-you look gorgeous :) I did not do anything on st.pattys either besides eating avocado hummus- thats green right. As much as I like blogging, there is so much happening everywhere- its hard to keep up, get too involved, it starts to frustrated. If you need a break, step back, relax and come back- I am always going to your reader. you are awesome!

  18. You are awesome, do you know that?? I’m glad your bloggy issues are resolved because I love reading your amazing insights.

That vegan mac and cheese looks BRILLIANT and I desperately want a bowl. Like right this minute.

Screw negative comments…people don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. I never approve them, but its hard to not let them get in your head. I always want to send a reply that just says “BITCH YOU DON’T KNOW MY LIFE” but refrain since that’s not very nice. Remember that you are blogging for YOU, and that for every lame comment you get, you have 50+ positive ones.

    Love you!!

  19. No! Don’t let them get you down! I totally understand how you feel though and agree that sometimes time without blogging and technology is definitely needed! I love reading your blog :-) Happy almost blogiversary to you!

  20. My favorite green food is avocado! :D

  21. Loving the manicure, I bought everything so that I can do my own shellac manicures at home. I love the fact it lasts at least 2 weeks rather than chipping on the second day!
I didn’t get up to much for St Patricks Day although having an Irish Dad I really should have…I partied too hard the night before at my engagement so wasn’t up to doing much at all yesterday!

  22. Will you (have you..?) done a hair tutorial? Your waves are amazing. Also, what kind of product do you use? My hair is so fine that my curls never hold… or they turn into a giant rats nest! I stayed home on St Pattys Day (I’m the most boring person ever) and watched movies/ate homemade sushi/went to bed at 8pm. Hahaha! Fav green food: mint chocolate chip ice cream! :D

    • I’ll definitely do one soon! I just need to have some time in the morning to put it together!
Oh it’s okay, I totally did the same, that doesn’t make us boring right ;)

  23. I’m glad you got your blog troubles figured out! Quinoa mac and cheese is something I have been wanting to make for a long time but for some reason have never gotten around to. I have no doubt it will be amazing when I finally do make it though!

  24. Well, despite the frustration with your blog, at least it gave you the perfect opportunity to take a few days off. Sometimes that’s exactly what we need. (:

And I’ve had those samoa cookie pancakes bookmarked for the past few days– I can’t wait to make them!

  25. Aww, I’m SO glad you enjoyed the pancakes! I swear I can’t wait till I can get back to my regular pancake-flippin’ so I can make them again…those and the Thin Mints…I’ve been having serious pancake craving lately! Lol

Love the coffee on coffee action! Haha! And that bowl of “cheesy” quinoa looks incredible! Comfort food for me is either something just like that (creamy and cheesy) or a big bowl of ice cream, or in the case of tonight, Arctic Zero…topped with a crumbled coconut muffin, crushed cereal, chocolate cocoa sauce, and almond butter…it was a dream come true!!
