Good morning, good morning! Now I have that song stuck in my head…
I’ve been awaiting July’s arrival for a good while now! July is one of the best months considering all the fun it brings. And a major plus being the weather has been top notch over here, which I love. I’ve always said I want to live in a warmer place like California since I love the heat.
Anyways, let’s move on to more interesting topics, like June favorites – and there’s quite a few to share with you all this month…
Simple Snacking has been my forte lately. It’s a lot easier to just reach and grab these for a quick Snack when I’m on the go and I’ve been completely loving these apple chips.
How can something so simple taste so good? They’re literally just organic apples in the ingredients – yet the dried out texture of them is amazing. I think I prefer these to normal chips – because they’re sweet and I love my sweet foods.
If you happen to come across these in stores, I highly recommend them.
This doesn’t look like anything too exciting, but this month I was all about the simple foods, as I stated above. And what’s more simple and kid friendly than an almond butter and jelly sandwich?
Of course I had to make it a bit more grown up with the use of ezekiel bread, raw almond butter, and homemade strawberry jam.
And let’s not forget the obvious…smoothies.
I’ll skip the smoothie picture and hit you with a new love of mine: juicing.
I know it’s super trendy and perhaps a bit annoying but I love it. I’m not doing some crazy juice cleanse but simply juicing when time permits – which usually ends up being 2-3 times per week.
Essie’s Lapis Of Luxury.
Originally, I wanted a bright, hot pink for the Summertime, but since they didn’t have the color I wanted – I settled on this pretty blue color. It’s almost an ocean blue with a hint of purple in it to make an overall beautiful color on the nails.
Since the heat is officially here, I definitely like to keep my face makeup more on the low key side. Nothing too crazy because it’s never fun to look too outrageous with the warm temperatures.
I’ve been considering doing a few makeup posts or tutorials if anyone would like, as well as a hair routine since I’ve gotten a lot of requests. I just need to figure out how to use the video portion on my camera properly;)
When I’m keeping the face more on the natural side, I still like to looked polished and put together which means I rely on lipsticks or glosses to jazz up my look a bit….and there’s nothing better than a bold lip color to do just that.
I think it’s obvious by now how much I love experimenting with different ones, but this month my favorite is from Maybelline in Fuchsia Flash.
Whenever I wear this color, I receive compliments, and it makes it even better that you can locate this in a Drugstore. I love my high end products – but if you’re able to find a dupe for a Mac product, you might as well save where you can.
This next product is not only one of my favorites for cooking, but it’s an excellent beauty product as well. Good ol’ coconut oil…
This oil is basically a jar for of wonderfulness. It’s been my saving grace for dry skin. I love to just mix a tiny amount into my normal moisturizer and apply it to my body – I don’t use this on my face since my dermatologist said that’s a big not to do. This absorbs into the skin so nicely, and I just can’t recommend it enough especially after shaving.
Is it weird to mention the deodorant I’m loving? Well, I’m sharing regardless because it’s ALWAYS important to smell good…
Lavanilla Deodorant in Vanilla Coconut.
Another plus with this product? It’s natural. And it’s a good natural product at that – no burning, itching, and stinging, and it smells amazing. Be aware if you try this out – it does take about two weeks before it adjusts to your unique skin. That’s just how most natural products work; they definitely take a few weeks to really adjust with your body.
Still going strong with my love for A Song Of Ice and Fire series.
They’re perfect for the fantasy lover in me. This book has been able to completely suck me in, and I’ve managed to purchase all the books. There’s a part of me that wants to finish the series so bad, but another part that makes me want them to last as long as possible. Hope that makes sense?
David’s Tea Organic Gold Rush.
This tea has the perfect amount of flavorings to create an almost caramel type taste. I can’t get enough of it – and can pretty much drink it daily without getting sick of the flavor. That’s enough of a win for me, the unfortunate thing is that this means it runs out fast.
Well, this month just flew by and contained some of my favorite posts including…
- A few of my most memorable posts this month were simple truths, how to feel beautiful on days you don’t, and there was a lot of great discussion happening on the perfect diet for everyone.
- I didn’t get the chance to spend too much time in the kitchen but I did post two nut butter recipes – raw walnut butter and a delicious blend of walnut almond butter. Both so tasty and used daily over here.
- Oh, and I can’t forget my recipe for buckwheat quinoa flatbread. Completely obsessed with it over here!
Alright, that’s it for my monthly favorites!
