One thing I’ve been more determined to work on, is getting a fresh and positive start to my days. When I wake up in a good mood – it’s almost guaranteed the rest of my day is going to follow suit of the mindset I awake with.
For me, if I start my day on the positive side and do something with my morning – it will definitely impact how the rest of the day turns out. For some my mind just doesn’t like the idea of sleeping in late, therefore having to be in a huge rush out the door. I like to have my peace and quiet times in the morning – which leaves me way more productive through the rest of the day.
When I wake up in a rushed state, I often feel too stressed and anxious the whole day. It also makes little tasks seem like a huge deal, when they really aren’t. Meanwhile, I know that when I get up early enough, get in a workout, some journalling, coffee and good food – my mindset will be more prepared and excited for the day ahead.
The perfect equations to my mornings usually include a list of these things…
Coffee or tea.
It’s kind of a necessity at this point in my life. Usually this includes a trip to Starbucks, only if I have enough time.
When I dress up and put on some makeup, it truly helps me feel like I want to get out and do more with my day. It’s just something I’ve always loved to do and it really has helped improve my confidence level when I dress nice.
Whether I start the day doing a little journalling, reading, or blog writing. The time I spend with my pen and paper are some of my favorite moments because I really feel like it’s “me time”.
A nourishing and fulfilling meal with the nutrition for my body and soul is always necessary to a good start in the day. I still can’t believe I lived without food in the mornings when I was younger…no wonder I was a moody teenager;)
Whether that includes walking, pilates, stretching, or spinning – I usually always start my mornings with some fitness. It gets my energy up, my mood increases, and I just feel happier in general. I admit, I’ve been slacking on this lately so I need to start getting back into it. Since I know it really does impact my day.
Starting my morning off on the right foot drastically changes the way I see and approach the upcoming hours. It also makes other tasks I have to do seem more desirable. Okay, desirable may be a stretch – but, it does leave me feeling like I want to accomplish more things.
How do you start the day off right?
Do you feel like a morning routine helps you feel more positive about the rest of your day?
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
